Yeah they mentioned in the coverage last night their performance has gone down dramatically since they had to make their engines right.

Hamilton calling out people for not taking a knee as having a lack of understanding. I think that's a bit unfair to pressure people to make an essentially political statement when they might prefer to do that privately. Leclerc and Max have said they won't take the knee.

Cracker of a race. Absolutely mental at the end.

It's a shame Hamilton punted Albon again just as he was on for a podium (subsequent DNF not withstanding). Also great result for Norris. McLaren are looking like a cracking choice for DannyRic next season. Real shame Russell went out or Williams would have got points there.

Was a great race.

Ferrari confirmed their car is not draggy, but just a high downforce configuration. If it was draggy, they'd tear up their tires as well as being slow on the straight. Feel sorry for Albon, but he doesn't need to change anything to get a result outside of maybe getting a little closer to Max. Looking forward to seeing a few more robust cars next week to see how Danny Ric, Max and George will go, but lets hand Mercedes the win now.

Fantastic last lap for Lando, what a great result!

The people defending Hamilton saying he couldnt do a thing have short memories. he could have got off the throttle, the same way he did on lap one.

He was off-throttle, you can hear there's no throttle before the impact. Still his fault, just sometimes the other driver puts you in positions where you can't do anything.

If that was Vettel instead of Hamilton he would have had the decency to spin himself out like he did last night and at Monza and Bahrain last year.

That's Vettel's signature move :)

Some barbed comments from him about the car after too, which is rarely welcome at Ferrari. I wonder if he'll even see out the season.

Great race thanks to the shocking reliability and frequent safety cars keeping a tether on the Mercs. I hope this new Steiermark Grand Prix track gives us a good race too ;)

Sounds like he had positive throttle percentage to me, would explain why it was understeering so bad also. I do think Albon could have had more patience, he had the pace, just wait for DRS and do it easy.

If you can leave two black stripes from the exit of one corner to the braking zone of the next, you finally have enough horsepower.

I've been really impressed with Albons willingness to fight. Pretty much since his first race with RBR at Spa when he passed Perez on the grass and Ricciardo around the outside we've seen he's not afraid to try something unconventional.

Me too, he's an exciting driver and has handled the unexpected RBR promotion really well.

He did seem pretty far off Max's pace when they were both running though.

I thought the drivers might be rusty. Turns out the cars were.

I wonder if any drivers have been told to be more cautious. Could put a lot of pressure on the factory if they need to churn out a new car or 2 in a week.

Only just watched the race this morning, what a cracker!!!

Although Max dropping out early really denied us a chance to see if he could keep the Merc's under pressure for longer, which could've been rewarded knowing how fragile they were at the end.

Poor Albon... While I first thought he should've could've been more patient, I then thought you're not a true racer if don't try take all opportunities presented. He really only had a short window to get past & once again was denied a podium by Hammy, who deserved the penalty & was probably lucky it was just a 5 sec one.

Way to go Lando...

Dani Ric still has the black cat following him everywhere, he better shake it off before he goes to McLaren. :(

Vettel LMAO, what a tool.

Grosjean must be bringing a lot of $'s to HAAS, why do they persist with him? I had visions of what Gunther must have been saying on the pit-wall, it's a pity that we won't get to see it on NETFLIX next year. :melt:

Would the delay have contributed to the mechanical failures? There's no part of an F1 car that's designed to sit in a factory for six or seven months. Maybe it had an effect.

The mechanical failures were bizarre in this modern era. It was like a race from the 90s.

I would expect that spending so much time on those fucking curbs didnt help. And typical of the whiny dick Hamilton, as soon as he is told not to do it, he comes back with "well he is doing it too". The mentality of a fucking 5 year old.

He does that at what. 20 years old? What a star.

Anyone here want to guess how you'd have gone at 20 trying to do that. I would have binned it at T1.
