Hamilton 1.1s faster than any non-Mercedes car in first practice.

This years car seems to be in a different class.

Geeezus, even the 2019 Mercedes trounced all the other 2020 teams today... The next year and a half will be hard to watch. Flogging the fans to death for the remainder of this rule set.

Well done Formula Mercedes, top 4 lockout.

I've wondered why the other teams have persisted with the high rake philosophy when the best team, Mercedes, aren't running that. Lo and behold another team ditched high rake and suddenly even Lance Stroll is looking good! Merc will be 5s ahead by the end of lap 2 or 3 tomorrow and it'll be race over. They could well lap everyone!

Damn, Merc dominance at a track where HP doesn't matter... They are the complete package.

Although Hungary can through up some curve balls at times, so let's hope it does or it's a wet race.

I watched a show on Bein sports about F1 and they said Merc are suing the high rake now.

How would a high rake defend itself in court?

Oh it's damp, not sure it'll stay that way but it might be an interesting first few laps.

Max needs to pay his mechanics a big fat bonus.

Start was interesting but once that all played out the top spots were massively spread out. Not really sure why Merc pitted Bottas at the end when he already had the pace to get it done.

Shame the weather didn't shake things up much.

Bottas not getting past Max sums him up I think. He's as quick as anyone but doesn't seem to have that extra level in those situations. In several races we've seen him put in a string of massive laps and reduced a gap, and then he just sits there for the rest of the race.

If that'd been Lewis, Max, Alonso or even Button, you'd expect them to have at least had a go for second place.

Yep as DannyRic would say, lick the stamp and send it. If there's even a sniff of a chance, you chuck it in there and hope they get out the way. Bottas tends to wait until it's an easy pass.

Is that where "send it" comes from. I missed that one :)

Bottas also doesn't seem able to put pressure on people, so doesn't force a mistake.

I can see why Mercedes kept him though. He's an excellent number two driver and is quick enough to keep Hamilton on it.

Yeah I think it was from China a couple of years back when he dive bombed Bottas at the hairpin around turn 3 or 4. He said something on the radio like you just have to lick the stamp and send it.

If you took Hamilton out of all the results from the last 4 years I wonder if Bottas would have won any of the titles.

He finished second last year so you'd assume he would have won.

Yep apart from Max's antics this was pretty much a nothing race...
Bo77as is no match for "get in there Loowis" & even though RP is a carbon copy of last years Merc they still got smashed by the factory team.
Just hand the DWC to Hamilton now & stop putting everyone @ risk of COVID-19. :p
