Here is the footage from the helo showing 2:42 of the suspension at work, doesn't look fake to me. Note you can see the passengers inside at times looking like they are still taking a bit of a beating.

Blimey, you must have been one of the first in! I didn't get there until 2010 and it was pretty incomprehensible back then. A really poor UI and lots of hidden rules and tricks that you had to figure out for yourself. God knows how it took off really. :D
