Last one of the year. I wasn't even sure we were going to have one let alone 17!

Despite Hamilton's domination I've enjoyed a fair few races.

If you want anything different (added or removed) from these topics next season I'm open to suggestions. Weather? Google map of the track maybe?

Google map of the track would be good i reckon. I usually go and check out what crazy pins people have dropped on the tracks. :p

Mercedes could conceivably finish the season with twice the points of any other team.

Biggest surprise to me is that Albon fared worse than La Teeth-ee in terms of the gap.

Mclaren and Alfa both on 8-8? I thought Lando pipped Carlos 9-8?

I wish someone would look at the layout used at this track. It rarely produces a good race.

Yep. Who decided the season should end with a wet fart?

Somebody who has a considerably larger house now I'm guessing.

Kinda sad how the hi-light of the entire weekend was Alonso taking his 15 year old F1 around.

Even sadder all the people saying "bring them back". People need to move on. They do indeed sound terrific, but if F1 want to be taken seriously about their claims to be getting greener ( ) things have to change. Interesting to see they have added things like cotton, hemp and other natural fibres to the list of things the car can be made from.

The best sound I ever heard was an old car with a 16 or 12 (cant recall, but it was a lot) cylinder engine at Eastern Creek. I think it was a Bugatti or something. But when it ran it sounded like the world was ending.

I keep thinking about it over and over.. I really think F1 needs to grow a pair.

They keep wanting to suck on the manufactures tit like its the 80's and 90's again.. all for what?

F1 has only has 3 engine makers in F1. And out of that only Merc/Renault are large scale manufactures, and I don’t even think they sell a hybrid anymore (or if they do, im sure they will be replacing it with a full electric car soon)

With the budget cap coming in.. why keep being bound to what these large car companies want? Who gives a fuck if Renault/Merc want to be "greener", its not like F1 does a good job of promoting the greenness of F1. Outside of hardcore F1 fans nobody knows that these hybrid engines are the most efficient engines ever made..
Go back to designing cars and engines that are passionate, try and drag in new teams, sponsors and owners through the quality of the sport not through manufactures trying to look green. And if you really want to be green, rather than some bullshit overcomplicated hybrid engine, Actually do something to help the environment.. Go all out on carbon offsetting, put solar panels everywhere. I don’t know but there is more ways to promote green technology than having complex hybrid technology engines that aren’t even road car relevant as more more manufactures go to full electric.

I just think this is all on a path to nowhere, with Honda leaving in 2022 and a locking of this shit engine for another 6 years F1 is fucked, this 2022 car better be fucking exciting and promote some serious overtaking or they can kiss the sport goodbye. Id much prefer to have a screaming V10 with the current F1 teams sprinkled in with like Campos/Prema/DAMS and international names like Penske all because we are worried about losing Merc and Renault.. Who gives a fuck if they leave

Wasn't Ferrari the one against the whole Hybrid thing? Like im not sure Ferrari are going to be too upset if we get back to V10 screamers.. like its not like they are having fun in the Hybrid era, especially this year

I just keep thinking back to the decision they made.. It was 2011 when they decided to go down the path of the Hybrid. If you look back then, it was basically Toyota leading with a very small run of hybrids following.. It was clear that was the direction that manufacturers were going.

But love them or hate them, Telsa has shook the market upside down, It wasn't until mid 2012 that Tesla launched the Model S which had 300km of real world range at almost $70k USD. At the time it wasn't practical but they have drove the market hard. In the last 8 years they are now easily the most valuable car manufacture on paper and now all the traditional manufacturers have had to pivot to full electric, you have a heap of choice of full electric cars for $40k USD with ranges more like 400km for that price point and super quick charging, Hybrids are going to become niche at best..

FIA tried Formula E for full electric but nobody cares, like I mean sure people do, but its never going to replace F1.. F1 needs to understand its a sport, this whole pandering to manufactures who can basically leave at anytime and leave the sport with a complex engine that has no real world practically is stupid.
