GameStop shorting. Wow.

Post by norbs »

Well this has been an interesting one to watch.

My worry is, now a lot of small traders have wildly overpriced stock, and also, the huge hedge funds are apparently buying up GME as well. The decision from Robinhood to block trading is also a fucking slap in the face to the little guys.

And the next phase is Barry hires some muscle to stop Steveo and his mates buying ciggies, so he can go back to ripping off his mates.

I doubt it's going to do much long term and I reckon this will absolutely knock middle class out of stocks. But man, it sure is entertaining! There's a reddit user sitting on $50mil from $53k investment.

As they're all saying: hold!

It's fascinating and shows how meaningless the stock markets are.

It does feel like something is going to shake up this absolutely insane situation where one person can accumulate unimaginable wealth and power. I know that's always been true to an extent but it's utterly absurd at the moment.

Agreed, and I while I think it was really clever and is incredibly pleasing to watch the "little" guy stick it to the Hedge Funds, I'm also curiously watching how this game of Prisoners Dilemma will unfold.

So this has been fascinating to watch. Curious, if the price goes ballistic like everyone has there fingers crosses for, does it then come crashing back to earth just as quickly as everyone trys to offload at the peak of the market? Would you have to be sitting glued to the price trackers ready to hit sell to actually make the big dollars?
