Re: 2021 F1 launch and testing topic
So much for the Gulf sponsorship & the rumours the iconic livery could be back.
One little decal is all I see, lmao!
Looking at it closely, there is a lot of development going on around the nose & bargeboards. Very intricately stepped to manage airflow.
Interesting areas on the floor too.

Comparison of the McLaren here: https://www.racefans.net/2021/02/15/int ... years-car/
It seems the main changes are around the shape of the engine bay which you'd expect with a new supplier.

Not bad. A bit Damon Hill Arrows in the livery but it's a bit different to most so easy to spot.

The shot of the rear is amazing. There's always something brutal and primitive about the arse end of a racing car.

Re: 2021 F1 launch and testing topic
Updated the release date list.
Just waiting for Haas. They're probably hiding for all the social media hate they'll get on Mr Marzipan. Even a tweet about him getting a seat fitting had over 1300 responses of hate He's going to be a total PR disaster for them. With Mick Schumacher there too the garage is going to have a good and evil half

Re: 2021 F1 launch and testing topic
Is Marzipan really that good to justify the storm that he's bringing with him? Haas is a well established name so it's not like the "all publicity is good publicity" marketing strategy would be necessary.
I've seen some clips of him being a nutcase on track but to be fair, some of the moves he pulled were pioneered by Mick's dad...

Re: RE: Re: 2021 F1 launch and testing topic
He's similar to Albon or Latifi in that he's good enough to win the occasional F2 race but not good enough to win the title. His employment is 100% about the money, I'm tipping he's essentially paying for Mick's seat.durbster wrote:Is Marzipan really that good to justify the storm that he's bringing with him? He's also a dickhead off the track. He punched Callum Illott after an F3 practice session. Tried to spread rumours that George Russell is gay etc. Just a rich wanker.

Re: 2021 F1 launch and testing topic
Have to say that I agree..
https://www.topgear.com/car-news/formul ... -be-bannedIf you were in charge of Formula One, what rules would you change?
Perhaps you’d bin DRS, re-introduce refuelling, or mandate at least one of the drivers has to spend the entire weekend wearing a fancy dress costume. Perhaps the individual who gives the single most boring answer to a press conference question. And it should be one of the really hot, humid, sticky venues where he has sweat through 72 hours dressed as Clifford The Big Red Dog.
I’d start before the season has even begun, and forbid any team from performing a spangly hashtag-infested gala ‘reveal’ of its new racing car. It’s the single most baffling piece of F1-ish guff since Sebastian Vettel’s anti-dandruff shampoo advert.
