I hope so too but just not sure they will be able to given there is still a qual session on Fri to determine the SQ grid.
At least it will provide something new & different to watch this weekend.

They should open up the DRS zones for the sprint race.

Remove the zone altogether. DRS where ever you damn well want! Mazepin pinning it into Copse with wing wide open!

Sounds like it shook him up a bit, rightly so too. I wouldn't be surprised of Ricciardo has a decent weekend given it's a mostly fast flowing track. It seems to be the heavy braking tracks that have messed with him.

Found it a bit emotional watching Russell's Q3 lap... the roar following him around the circuit all on his own, it was quite something.

So blessed hasnt stopped whinging about RB and suggesting some nefarious shenanigans, and now gets pole. Jesus.

Russell needs a better car. What an effort.

He thrives by believing he's the underdog, both on and off track. He's always had a bit of a victim complex. It seems to work for him though.

What a Qual, best one I've seen for not actually getting pole.

Yeah Russell's lap was special with the crowd reaction.

Now let's see what SQ is like.

Yeah, that was quite a moment. It's such a special thing to even hear the crowd in televised motorsport.

It shows what an impact Russell has made that 8th place in qualifying gets the crowd on their feet :D

Yeah absolutely stellar from Russell. Makes Latifi look a complete also-ran in that car.

Saturday George made the transition to Friday George with aplomb, I'm a believer!
Great crowd reaction!

I'm thinking the sprint race needs DRS from lap 1 to stop the cars spreading out in the first 3 laps and being out of DRS range.

Not sure it is a great concept.

Alonso did about 6kms more than the rest of them.

Not sure the Sprint stacks up for me. Once they had spread out a little bit nothing really happened. But fair play for giving it a try but it needs some tweaks. I suppose though we got a race instead of an hour of practice so in that respect it's better.

This parade lap is pointless. Instead of standing at the side waving to fans, they're talking to Button, and Hamilton is sulking in the corner so no one can see him anyway!

It has always annoyed me when the TV people muscle in on the only time that the fans at the track get to see the drivers properly. Oh it's so great to see all the fans here who have paid £hundreds to be here, but let's just completely ignore them so I can ask you something inane and inconsequential.

Anyway, that aside, I'm off to the race tomorrow so woooooo! :D

3 place grid penalty for Russell so he will start 12th.

Have a great day Durbs. Get the factor 50 on!

I don't like the format but it gets all the cars out on the track in every session. Fridays are usually boring with teams waiting to come out on track. Now they're all lining up at the start of FP1.
