Biggest performance area/lots of little flick-ups that stickers can't fit on?

Interesting how Aston Martin are doing a massive undercut, while Mclaren (with the same engine package) is using the sodepods to generate an outwash with it.

Completely different ideologies!

Yeah the MCL is not as good as previous years but it is ok imho.
But I really like Felix Rosenqvist's Indycar livery & it would be good to see that on their F1 car.

How accurate are those side by side comparison's?
Surely there is an element of parallax error to it cause how do they know each photo is taken at the same angle for every car?

Not very accurate for the front and rear wing. The McLaren shot has a wider FOV. If you look at a side on shot there's actually a similar gap between the front wing and the wheel as the Aston, but on that top down shot it looks like they're almost touching. The Aston looks more like a top plan view render than a photo.

I like that there are several design philosophies on the side pods. Someone is going to get it right and someone's going to get it wrong and it'll be interesting to see who and how they deal with it.

There's a lot more variation than we've seen in a long time. Aston in particular. They seem to be the only ones who have done away with the coke bottle shape, though there's a channel underneath.

It's cool that the removal of winglets etc has led to bigger visual differences, but I suppose they'll quickly converge on whatever is the most successful.

That undercut looks cool on the elevated frontal view of the Tauri and I agree, its great to see this much variety in the way the teams have interpreted this new rule set. Im liking the AT livery as well.

From a livery only perspective that McLaren is let down by the blue upward stripe on the side pod. I can live with the rest of the livery but that stripe ruins it for me.

I'm already looking forward to mistaking it for the Alpine. :D

These new wheels really are enormous aren't they.

Alpine have got Astons old BWT sponsorship so that should be blue and pink.

That dick from RichEnergy has been saying on twitter that they are part of a team again. Not many options left cos it aint Williams!

The Ferrari is looking sexy with a return to black wings. Hope it stays that way instead of the white. Another very different sidepod design people are saying are like the L pods of the 2011 McLaren.

There's also a different livery design pic with a black back end online. Not sure which of them is real yet.

Im tolerating the wheel covers a lot more than when F1 ran them last time.
I think its due to the outer edge receding into the wheel rim instead of being a dinner plate dish like in 08/09.

But they do look like an emergency spare wheel.

I think the Ferrari is going to be a train wreak...
I cannot see how they'll consistently get clean high-energy air to the top of the diffuser to power the highest downforce generator. They might get it there at certain speeds, but... eugh.

Ok, so they want to push the front tire wake to the side. I like how they're doing that with the leading edge of the floor and sidepods. To keep the sidepods going through after that is to prevent the air from filling that big negative pressure area, and the flick up at the end after that 'valley' means the air they sent way out to the side is now trying to come back in where it came! It would have made sense to me to have that start to the sidepods and the floor, but to restrict the air coming in from the top doesn't make sense to me.

Perhaps this is all a result of their new powertrain architecture, and how the air needs to flow through the engine bay, but it's just feeding hot turbulent air to the back of the car.

Is someone seeing something else to me here to help me understand why they went this way?
