Re: 2022 F1 launch and testing topic
I've read that it's very unlikely that somebody will have found a loophole to introduce some clever new thing that'll allow them to dominate the first year of the new rules.
So who's going to be the team that proves that wrong?
I'll take a punt on Ferrari or Aston Martin.

Hmm, I dunno why I said Aston Martin because I actually meant Alpine but I'll stick with it. Who knows

The four-time constructors’ championship-winning operation will launch the RB18 on February 9, a day prior to Aston Martin.

Re: 2022 F1 launch and testing topic
Haas have gazumped everyone by announcing they're showing theirs tomorrow (4th)!
I suspect this year we'll just get a ton of CGI pics to save money and to not give anything away with the new rules until the first test gets going.
Just Williams left to announce a date (first post updated)

Re: 2022 F1 launch and testing topic
I'm guessing that's just a livery render of the '22 spec demo car they all had access to because it has no DRS mechanism on it.
It was all a bit low key really. One post on twitter with 4 pics in it. Woo!

There's a few subtle differences but I'm assuming the real car will look different again.

Re: 2022 F1 launch and testing topic
Meh, a livery reveal. At least HAAS was a early iteration of their actual design!
It'll be out of the marketing budget for all the teams, so none of them will be the actual cars.
Bring on Bahrain!

Re: 2022 F1 launch and testing topic
I'm shocked at how different & unique the RBR livery is this year.
The days of exciting car reveals is gone & there's no real point to these livery reveals. Like Scottie mentions the teams would be better leaving the car reveals for the first day of new season testing. meh!

Re: 2022 F1 launch and testing topic
Ok, so this one does look cool...
I did notice the amount of car that the drivers need to clamber over to get into the cockpit! The outboard mirrors are back...
Can see there's still some scope to use parts of the floor in managing the airflow as the bargeboards did, like elongating the outer intake fence. Integrate that with whatever is going on with the T-tray and that could help create some securing vortices down the floor?
The front wing is almost creating downwash with the first pane. I'm interested to see how that works out, perhaps if someone is making this concept work with a high rake, that could be pretty huge.

That looks hot as fuck!!!
Good to finally see a car that looks like its a legit design. Lots of interesting bits n pieces to analyse.

Now that is a livery reveal, looks friggin awesome.
So have they lightened the green (hops so) or is it just the high intensity lights?

Re: 2022 F1 launch and testing topic
Why do all the teams have the bottom part of the car always in black?
