Anyone going to the 2022 Aus GP?

Post by Bauer »

I’m going to what will be my first gp in 25 years.

Heinz HF was still driving and Damon Hill was in an arrows the year I went.

That was the first year I went too. The only time the MasterCard Lola hit the track.

I'll be there up the back of Prost stand. Was an insane rush to get tickets when they went on sale last year. The section I'm in sold out in a few minutes.

Yep, I tried to get the same 4-day seats I had previously, but the website kept loosing my position/tickets. Soon after, all sold out.

So, it'll be packed. Scottie won't be going this year half in fear of a spreader event. Will go in future years.

Yep much like Scottie, I so wanted to see the new ear of car this year but I just don't want to face the expected crowd with the ever present threat of COVID.

I didn't realize they'd changed the track. T9/10 gone and most of the others widened.

Yeah, a fair bit of work. Will make the lakeside drive part pretty quick!

Nothing to serious, I had a mate bail early, and another that was on the fence.. So I never booked flights/accom, combine that with getting flooded and the cost in that, and my other mate being likely to bail, I dont wanna be stuck with circa 1k in tickets, and 2k in flights/accom that could be lost if I decide not to go last min.
