Ukraine invasion..

Post by pixelboy »

Its absolutely horrific.. This is going to send Russia back into the USSR ages. We need to dethrone Putin asap.

One great thing to see is the grass roots "resistance" that is emerging..

We need Sterling Archer to go and put a bullet in Putin's head.

At Reiza we have a Russian and a Ukrainian in the team. It has been a harrowing time seeing their posts.

The balls on some of the Ukranian people... (I also wonder how many of these sorts of clips aren't real, are from other times)

I've been following this as closely as I can and it's extraordinary. It does seem to be going Ukraine's way so far. I'm wary of the propaganda aspect so each day I'm surprised to wake up to the news that no major cities have yet fallen.

Instead, it's relentless stories of Ukrainian resistance like the above that are dominating the story, and a lot of them have been hilarious. And they're usually civilians, not soldiers in the stories, which makes them even more humiliating for Putin.

The lady saying to a Russian soldier, "take these seeds and put them in your pocket, so at least sunflowers will grow when you all lie here."

The Ukrainian civilian driving along a road and coming across stopped armoured vehicles:
- "Are you broken down?"
- "No, we're out of fuel"
- "Can I give you a tow... back to Russia?"

And of course, "Russian Warship, go fuck yourself," will live forever.

I'm sure these insanely brave people are always there in war but because almost everything is documented by somebody nowadays, their stories are all over the world and have been crucial to rally support. It must have been a major factor in bringing the world to mobilise against Putin. It seems the world is seizing an opportunity to finally get rid of him.

The fear is, as Putin gets more desperate he'll get more nasty, but the signs are that the Russian soldiers don't want this fight.

Another surprise is that I was convinced the Russian's recent investment in online misinformation would have been controlling the online story somewhat, but the west / Ukraine are winning the war there by some way. Not sure if that means the Russian misinformation stuff was a myth, or has been actively suppressed.

Unfortunately the guys on the island were all killed.

Brave as it is to carry a mine away, I'm not sure I would have been standing that close to film it!

Putin is a nutter, it feels very much like Hitler wandering across Europe again but he's running out of non-NATO countries to take over and sooner or later he'll come unstuck but it's terrible for the people living there to be in such a situation.

I thought so too. However, the Ukrainian Navy has (in the last couple of hours) said they were captured and are alive.

I'm amazed Russia hasn't been able to cut all communication to suppress these stories getting out. Perhaps shows their information on the Ukranian communications systems is lacking and this was a hastily put-together attack.

Then again, with systems like solar power and starlink systems becoming more widespread, it'll be increasingly more difficult for an attacking nation to completely block out an area while they commit their atrocities.

Another quote that made me laugh, this time from an adviser to the President's chief of staff:

"There is no need to be afraid. The Russian army is not strong, it is just long. We will eat them slowly, like a salami."

Modern warfare. These Chechen shitbags, part of the Russian attack, posted a Tic-Tok of their camp, someone quickly geo-located it and the Ukrainians wiped it out with a Grad strike.

Ukraine have launched a massive offensive in the last few days and retaken massive amounts of land and seem to have taken some key towns. The Russian front looks like it just collapsed. Dunno if UKR can sustain it but it looks like a significant moment.

They might have cut off a huge number of Russian troops too.
