This whole thing is a shitshow. It's clear that the drivers/team are worried about how they leave the country in the event of all withdrawing
So now we are going to risk the lives of eveyone to put on a show. I really hope this is a teachable moment here for f1. For the last few years we have been smashed with "we race as one" but ok to turn a blind eye to authorium dictatorships. F1 is talking about scrapping spa so we can race in these countries, the drivers / teams need to stand up because nothing else will stop them
Haas have confirmed that Schumacher will not race on Sunday.
Mercedes are considering doing a full swap of engine, gearbox etc for Hamilton and I think that also allows a setup change so they can start from the pitlane and put an engine in to the pool.
LH doesnt seem happy, seems like Merc cant get him happy in the car. GR did alright, so I wonder how much different their set up and or driving style is.
That Merc must be wildly inconsistent or the team have no idea on setup direction, or maybe both. George had a massive gap to Lewis last race and now it's the other way around. Nice that the scrap at the top is so close.

This race seems to give off bad vibes all round. Even it weren't for the politics and missile attacks, we've already had some massive shunts and several drivers hospitalised and it's only held 1.5 events so far.
Russell was typically diplomatic in the post-race interviews and said the Merc just has a tiny window of performance that he found and Lewis didn't, implying it could easily have been the other way round. Even so, no matter how much of a team player he is, I bet he slept better than HAM.
I did see a comment that said Merc had tried something a bit different on Hamilton's setup and it just hadn't worked, the rear was too loose so if they decide to start from the pitlane they can fix that by probably copying GR's setup.
Great race. Weird to see RB as the car to have for a straight line advantage now. They spent so many years with the opposite issue. Pity the SC screwed Checo

Was a fun race to watch. What we could see of it among the replays. Shame for Checo though he didn't seem to have the pace on hards. I wish F1 would go to closed pits during VSC/SC.
There were some posts on reddit saying F1 were told it might be difficult for them to leave the country after they raised concerns about the attack. If true I really hope it means they never go back. Some WWE performers and staff appear to have been detained/held hostage when trying to leave the country after they had issues in 2019.
There is a long way to go, but I wonder, IF, GR can stay ahead of LH, whether he will regret staying around. Surely that will tarnish his record? As much as it would please me, I dont expect it will happen. But he does look to be struggling right now.
