Practice moves to Friday to be in line with the other races on the calendar.
Also a chance of rain Saturday and Sunday.

Is there a reason practice was previously held on a Thursday? I always thought it was odd.

'Traditionally, the Monaco Grand Prix weekend coincided with Ascension Day, which is a bank holiday in the principality. It falls on the Friday of the race weekend, meaning that the Grand Prix weekend is paused to allow traffic to move through the principality’s streets.'

Fair enough, although I would have thought holding it on the holiday would make more sense...w00dsy wrote: ↑Thu May 26, 2022 8:54 pm 'Traditionally, the Monaco Grand Prix weekend coincided with Ascension Day, which is a bank holiday in the principality. Well, a lot happened.
MSC car breaking in half! Fucking hell.
Alonso just driving like an old lady and then pulling away from LH like he wasnt there. LH whinging his tits off as usual. Ferrari protesting the Red Bulls pit exit. Power going out.
Not bad for that shit hole of a place.

Yeah he deserved that.. clearly closed the door under brakes..
Anyway, fuck I was seething staying up last night with the start of the race under the FIA. The race should have started at the right time, everyone was on inters ffs! but instead we got robbed of a grid start and the chaos of early on. Now I admit it should have been a red flag, but we then waiting way way to long to get going again.
The FIA has been hopeless this year, yes Masi had his problems (spa being one) but they really need him back and to just get on with it.

Re: 2022 FORMULA 1 GRAND PRIX DE MONACO
The initial delay and the reason for the rolling start later was because of an electrical fault with the start lights, and they weren't sure the procedure would have worked. They said during commentary they'd lost power at one point so it sounds plausible.
Maybe they hadn't expected so much rain and didn't cover up all the electrical stuff properly.
