Leclerc will start with a 10 place grid penalty. You're only allowed 2 ECUs. His first one broke when they started the car on race day and then he retired in the race with the same problem so he has to take a penalty for a new one.

And will get further penalties all year if any further ECU's get replaced... :(

Stoked for Oscar to bag a P8 start on the grid! Such a tricky track, kept it out of the walls and quick, fingers crossed for points!

Yeah, great result for him considering Norris was 19th.

Even with Max starting 15th you still think mmmm yeah but he'll probably win by a mile!

Yeah Max has been a second faster than everyone but his team mate at times and it's not going to be difficult for him to pass on this track. It's hard to imagine he won't at least get a podium unless accidents and safety cars don't go his way.

Am I the only one that hates the awkward interview 'games' that TV insist on doing? Sky this year have driver pairs trying to draw each other. Honestly I couldn't care less. I'd much rather a proper sit down interview where you get to find out interesting stuff about them rather than trying to do it while they play table tennis or cook pasta or draw!

I very much doubt Hamilton will do this!

If you missed that lovely rendition of the national anthem...
(I think Russell was trying hard not to laugh :D )

Very illuminating radio messages from Perez during that race. He was clearly paranoid they were going to give the win to Max. Maybe some bitterness between the Red Bulls will add some much needed drama to the season, although that does depend on them being somewhere near each other on track.

Also interesting to see RUS showing HAM up again, both on track and in attitude.

And great to see that it looks like Piastri might be able to give Lando something to think about.

I was suprised more wasnt made of the fact that Russell finished better than Hamilton last year. You'd think the greatest driver ever would be able to towel up the young bloke.

Jos being a dick, not really news is it? :)

WIll be interesting to see if Piastri does perform whether Norris is still as cheery.

I think it's more that if they're going to change how strictly the rules are enforced they need to make it known beforehand.

The teams would have looked at how penalties were served in the past to see what they can get away with to do them as quickly as possible. Good on Aston martin for calling them out on being inconsistent and good on the stewards for sucking it up and amending the ruling.

Agreed, the rule book needs to be black and white and its inconstancy thats the problem.. we have seen it with overtaking, white lines, pitstops, body parts coming off among a bunch of other things.

this is a good example, ok now update the rule book with the direction you want and then enforce it from now on in.

I noticed on the fastest laps that it looks like Max, Alonso, Russell, Sainz and Gasly all set theirs on the last lap. I don't know if that necessarily means they were all going for the championship point but if that's an indication of their available race pace then the Red Bulls are waaaaaaay ahead of everyone but the Aston Martin.

There are some interesting pairings on the grid at the moment. Things are obviously not peachy at Red Bull after what happened in Brazil last year. Also I read that Max skipped the team briefing at the weekend. He needs to be careful if he's going to start distancing himself from the people who have helped him get where he is. Perez didn't seem to be aware that Max was going for the extra point for fastest lap either (although he should have just done that off his own back if he wants to win the title and not be second fiddle - he must have known from experience that Max wasn't going to let him keep it).

Russell is very impressive. He just deals with what he has and gives encouragement back to the team even if he thinks it's a wrong call. Hamilton just moans that the car is undriveable.

Norris just looks really unhappy at the moment. I bet they can't wait to get their update package in but I can't see it suddenly leaping them 10 places up the grid unless there's a fundamental aero error that needs fixing that will transform the handling. Didn't help that they both needed a front wing and were deal last by lap 3.

Alonso is showing he still has it but what a stupid mistake lining up on the grid. He should have known better than that. Mind you he would have still been 3rd.

Wow the FIA took so long to decide on Alonso that Aston Martin had time to trawl through hours of footage and find 7 instances where teams had touched the car and not got a penalty.
