Well that was an interesting practise session I got in a good lot of runs with the XRT so I sort of have an understanding of what I should be expecting of you guys (assuming I get in on time to judge ya's).
Just thought I might get some things out of the way with the other judges though and sort out how we're meant to go about it. I figure the best way is to 'behind cam' the trailing car during the run to get a quick impression. Should we also take other camera's into account? Watch replay's in between judging? Or just keep it nice and simple and go with what we think is best on the fly?
Shall it be a mark out of ten? Or should we use the 'split ten points between the drivers' system I have seen on the idiot box?
In the end, I think it is going to a game of attrition as getting a good run through all those corners seems a mite tricky. Personally I will be looking for a few things if you guys want to impress me. A good early entry into turn one and follow it through into the apex in the second. You can ease off on the drifting up to the entry in the corkscrew but I will be looking for a good drift on the exit (tricky, but will impress me). You can do whatever you like up the straight, but I'll be looking out carefully for stuff ups if you decide to showboat (extra points for putting on a show guys!) and I will give appropriate Kudo's to those who drift the entire last corner smoothly. I will not look kindly on those in the faster cars who blast it up the straight in order to put a gap on the trailing cars.
Unfortunately, I didn't get a good chance to drive the other cars (just the XRT), so I won't be able to give you extra credit for driving a tricky car.
Remember, good clean and close racing guys! Everyone keep a replay of their runs too, if I find the time I want to compile a video of it all.
