Ben Lee. Awake is the new sleep.
There is so much i should hate about this album. Pretentious, wanky, self indulgent etc etc.

But I still find myself humming it.

Also The Killers album.

Looking forward to Airbourne from the bootleg I've heard.

Not much in the way of new stuff that I've really liked. Got a Beck and the Flaming Lips live album, that's nice, but probably old.

Edit: Various Artists - She will have her way. Gotta love the Crowdies (and to a lesser extent, Split Enz :D)

Same here. Didn't mind Foo Fighter's effort this year but it's hardly their best. Colour and the Shape craps on it. So I won't so it's my favourite album of the year despite the fact that I think it's the only new album I've actually bought this year!

It has been a good year for my music tastes.. good albums from Ben Lee, Beck, NIN, Block Party, Neon, QOTSA, We are Scientists, Wolfmother, the Clientele, and Death Cab.

Oh, and The Mars Volta - Francis the Mute was alright too. Wasn't nearly as good as Comatorium, but in the scene of modern music, it was well above par.

And Cutter, the Killers was 2004 :)

I love QOTSA, but Lullabies put me to sleep. The Mars Volta's Comatorium had a similar effect last time I listened, didn't spin my wheels, haven't heard their newie tho :)

Anyone given Bernard Fanning's album a listen? I have it, but haven't really listened to it yet :cyclops: A shame with so much access to all the music I could ever want, I don't really have time to sit and listen to them all properly anymore.

Never heard of most of the stuff listed here. I do not believe I bought a single album all year..

Ive been listening to Bernard's album a lot the last couple of weeks, and I like it. Not quite enough to list it in a best of 2005 thread though.. I'll have to see how it grows on me.

I know what you're saying about having too much to listen to and not enough time Goop ;) . I've got a bit of a backlog of stuff I've aquired but haven't listened to yet. Good and bad I suppose.. mmm musical gluttony. :tilt:

by the way, if a few people here want access to a brilliant private music BT site, pm me.
