Dates and Tracks

Round 1
Fern Bay Gold Rev
3/1/06
Overview : http://www.nutteh.com/images/lfs/AADrift/Round1.jpg
Take off from the start line and work your way into the narrow section, open it up under the bridge then go high speed drift through the last two right handers.
Information @ http://arse.norbtech.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=3217

Round 2
South City Long Forward
10/1/06
Overview : http://www.nutteh.com/images/lfs/AADrift/Round2.jpg
Make your way into the next right hander and through the double left which leads right into the sbend, should provide some close racing and most of all damage a lot of cars who dont get it right.

Round 3
South City Long Reverse
17/1/06
Overview : http://www.nutteh.com/images/lfs/AADrift/Round3.jpg
You would make your way down the hill, into that right handed corner, this is one of the best and most challenging corners in LFS, if you manage to get it right you can link that right up to the next corner, then you can go into left and down to the tight hairpin to finish.

Round 4
Aston Hist Reverse
24/1/06
Overview : http://www.nutteh.com/images/lfs/AADrift/Round4.jpg
This is just past the first split, you would make your way though this fast right handed bend, left and down the little dip and back over the top, you should be linking into the next two right hand corners on the way out, would finished after this.
This is the high speed one, should be something different.

Round 5
KY National forward
31/1/06
Overview : http://www.nutteh.com/images/lfs/AADrift/Round5.jpg
Another tight tricky section, judges will be impressed with high speed!

Grand Final
Fern Bay Club
7/2/06
Overview : http://www.nutteh.com/images/lfs/AADrift/Final.jpg
Great track, and im sure the top guys shouldn't have an issue linking the whole track up, this will be a double points round.

Format

The format will be a single elimination 16 person competition.
A dual battle will take place, both drives will take off down the allocated section, one driver will lead the first round, and they will swap for the next run.

Each judge will announce the winner of each run, a judge giving you the win will count as a point, after the two runs the judges points will be added up, the winner will progress to the next round.

Points

Everyone who participates is guaranteed at least 1 point
the winners of the first round are guaranteed at least 4 points
the second round winners are guaranteed at least 6 points
the third round winners are guaranteed at least 8 points
the final round winner gets 10 points.

Points will be tallied up, the top 8 will go through to the final round to compete for double points

Driver Registration

The league is expect to be popular, so a seeding system will be used to control numbers for each race night.
The first 16 drivers two register, will be given spot into the first round. There will be a waiting list made up of drivers out side the top 16. Drivers that fail to make it through the first knockout phase of each round will be removed from the next round of the competition and placed at the bottom of the list.

A Registration thread will be opened at 10pm on Tuesday 27nd of December 2005

Rules

A rules thread will be posted shortly containing rules and what the judges are looking for.

Started work on the layout for round #2.
http://www.nutteh.com/images/lfs/AADrift/Round2.jpg

Nutty. You could run this on South City Sprint Track #2 (standard)
That would eliminate the turn around at the end of the first run cos u can drive straight on around to the start again. ;)

When u exit the pits on SO Sprint #2 (standard) u are @ 45 degrees, u can u turn easy as with out having to 3 point it. Ive checked it & i can with my drift setup

i agree .. even if i leaves pits and reverses back to the start finish then the other one leaves the pits

Its probably best to run it SO Sprint Track #2 (reversed) but run the track in the (standard) direction.

This makes exiting the pits quick and easy, no u turn required.

This round will run a lot quicker in overall time due to not having to turn around after your first run :D

Round 2 Question.

Doooriftooooo Adminooooo

Would you prefer to use the (standard) layout or the (reversed) for SO Sprint #2?

I made a nice little layout last night on the reverse but i must have been soooo dam tired i didnt notice the "WRONG WAY" text :p until this morning, Ooops.

I can remake this layout in the (standard) format as its an easy little layout.
Ill just mean getting outa the pits will take a bit longer per battle, no biggie i supose since we dont have to turn around after the 1st run.

Oops

will there be any car restrictions for round 2?

seeing there's an uphill section, and Takumi uses a XRG, he's hot I know :p , but hey if he faces those turbo or 300++hp big*ss cars, I don't know man...

I can assure that you judges are gonna have a real tough time judging a XRG vs XRT/FZ5 on that uphill part.

might need to think more on that. Just a suggestion.

After having a muck around on SO After the drift comp. its going to be hard to link those 2 or 3 left hand corners up going up the hill.
I have tried it in a few cars but I can only link them in the LX cars

yep. after the uphill starts, the corners are pretty much unlinkable unless you drive a LX or maybe a FZ.. time to think of a new line. linking the first section IS possible though, and probably for all the cars.

Where would we like the finish line ???

I have it at the "RED" strip at the moment, but i can relocate it to the "BLUE" strip if you guys want. Personally i think the red strip is ok, but im gonna be driving a FZ50 :p
