easy difference - SDRAM will have 2 un-equally spaced notches along the bottom, DDR just has a single notch in the center along the bottom. you'll have to eject them from the slot to check the bottom edge of course.

the slot which has the modem plugged into it is a PCI slot, do the other 3 slots look the same as this? (in both size and colour) PCI slots are usually white.

an AGP slot is for a video card, sits right beside the PCI slots. agp slot is usually brown, slightly smaller and positioned further away from the edge.

If it says DDR SDRAM on the RAM that's because it's double data rate SDRAM as opposed to SDR SDRAM (which usually just says SDRAM).
