With Wilfire & U.S. Pits going kaput, a few of the NR2003 mods
are hard to find.
Here is a link that seems pretty reliable.

Of those among us who can actually run it, who has the best connection?
we could maybe try a MP tonight.
512/128 here.
by the way, Road Altanta, bathurst V2 & Road of steel are great in this mod.
Road Altanta especially.
sorry, I'm a pillock.
I meant this to be in the GTP thread, oh well you get the idea.

ok, i installed n2003 this morning, first of all the sounds are screwed the idle sound, gear shifts and commentry are fine, except when the revs rise the sound becomes absolutely horrible, almost like you are driving through a tunnel, except it sounds 10x as bad
any ideas on what to do? (and does anyone have a mirror for dodgy version of GTP? i really wanna play it )

You need to download the tracks.
go here for most of them.
http://www.simracingconnection.com/nasc ... road.shtml
they should go in your "Tracks" folder under your main NASCAR 2003
directory. [That way you'll have them for the original game and the other mods]
Then copy any track you want in GTP into the GTP folders "tracksD"[day]
or "TracksN [night] folder (or both)
Then you have to copy the 5 "fast.gtp.???" files from any of the default
GTP tracks into the new track folder. Although try and choose tracks
reasonably close to the config of the new track your putting in.
GTP Spa sets worked good for Bathust, the GTP watkins glen, not so.
Then you have to edit the ini file. i.e. track.ini in the new tracks folder.
you need to put these lines in under the "starter decisions" section
[about 20% down the file]
[ track_gtp ]
track_asphalt_grip = 1.04
track_tire_heat = 1.00
track_tire_wear = 1.20
track_tire_wear_loss = 0.11
track_tire_wear_exp = 1.05
Just cut and paste, seems to work OK.
That takes care of you.
If you want to modify the AI past this in just after the [AI track ] bit.
[ ai_track_gtp ]
ai_accel_modifier = 0.70
ai_decel_modifier = 0.80
ai_fuel_use = 0.93
ai_grip_modifier = 1.05
ai_drag_modifier = 1.00
ai_qual_modifier = 1.02
bear in mind, there seems to be a few glitches with the AI on some tracks,
particularly the Noonan converted GPL ones.
but I've not struck it yet.

From memory downloading the "realtek" sound drivers fixed it for me.Cutter wrote:Yeah, there is a fix. It was on the papy forums.
