What exposure / apature settings ?

I borrowed a tripod from Uni (good part of working in Media Studies, I get access to equiptment).
Not happy with it though. Still sorting the night stuff out.

I like this one. I would square it up though, other than that really good.

Inspired by norbs I took my camera in and walked around the city for 3 hours after work.

I'm a bit obsessed with a particular post-processing technique atm, so if you think it looks crap/too dark let me know :)

No, I was holding the camera against posts/ground/walls/bins etc. I need one of those mini beanbag things.

1st one is the view from my office, but not from my desk :(

LOL, popular spot. I took this late afternoon a couple years ago. The light off the water or the low sun angle lit up the underside of the bridge.

I grabbed a tripod of eBay for $26. Its light and easy to carry around. It isnt the worlds best tripod (compared to some $200 ones I looked at) but it does the job.

I've got a tripid and a monopod. I just can't be assed carrying them around. Esp when I'm travelling to work by bus. :)

I also have one of the mini tripods with the flexible legs like the one I gave you in the kit. They're pretty handy too, you can wrap the legs around railings etc, but I think the beanbag would be more versatile.

there is a thing for pre-mature babies, it is called a 'peanut-pillow' shaped like a unbroken peanut shell ('8' layed on it's side)
the have a dip in the middle that is just the right size for a lens to rest on whilst the camera body rests on the surface
(car bonnet, brickwall, friends shoulder or whatever). they are great for photography and a fuck of a lot cheaper than a beanbag made especially for photography (add twenty dollars for the word photographic) any hospital can give you a pattern (if the missus sews) or direct you to a support group that sells them. we had three but i gave two away to SLR owning friends.
