It's not the fact that Australia lost, it's
how they lost that annoyed everybody.
Had Italy scored legitimatley in normal or extra time to win the game, or won it in a penalty shootout, no-one would have had a problem with the result.
Fourthly, a big
to FIFA for giving him Player of the Tournament!
Alas, the recipiant of the award had already been decided by the time the incident occured. :-\

The FIFA World Ranking system has had a major shakeup since the World Cup, new ranking were releades a day or two ago.

As you can see, USA has now plummeted to 16th in the World Ranking.
Some big movers in the due to the system shakeup...
Australia is now the highest ranked team in Asia, after jumping up 9 spots to 33rd, while the other qualifying teams from Asia all took a serios dive - Iran -24, S. Korea -27, Japan -31 and Saudia Arabia dropped an unbelieveable 47 positions to be 81st in the world!
The biggest surprise has to be Guinea - despite not qualifying for the World Cup, they've somehow managed to move up 27 positions in the World Ranking, to position 24, leapfrogging ahead of several WC qualifying nations, including Round of 16 participants Ghana and Ecuador.
This will be my signature until Dexter Bean qualifies for a NASCAR race. Keep chasing that dream...
