That reminds me. Did anyone catch the NSW premiers comments this morning ? Boy talk about being a prize dickhead. Here we are for perhaps the first time with all of australia rallying behind the Australians and what does this birk say. "We are going to have a parade in Sydney, Home of the Socceroos" Sydney is NOT the home of the socceroos, you arogent prick. ALL of australia is. Thats the point, it unified the country perhaps more than any other sport in resent years, and the first thing he does is try to make it / them sydney centric. By christ that annoys me no end.

If you can leave two black stripes from the exit of one corner to the braking zone of the next, you finally have enough horsepower.

At this point I think it would be very hard to remove it from the game... Maybe I should start following another sport or just keep it to F1 and WRC.
At the end of the day it's cheating.
They use video evidence retrospectively to award goals or owngoals to the rightful scorer so why can't you review videos of diving and then dish out massive fines (£250,000) per offence. It's no different to rigging a game, paying a goalie to let in a shot or betting on the outcome of your own match.

All seems pretty typical for soccer to me, the biggest rip off game in existence. Despite my dislike for the game I wanted us to go well but could see something like this coming a mile off, I have to admit though I did still hold onto a little hope we'd beat Italy.
I'm glad that it's pretty much all over now.

Big call Sarsi. Biggest rip off game? Not quite sure what you mean, but as far as people watching and participating, the numbers shit all over the 3 other codes out here.

And dont tell me there aren't problems in the other codes either.

Not unlike the Commonwealth games hey Nige. Melbourne tried to turn them into a show about Melbourne. AFL players in an opening ceremony, with ballet dancers for fucks sake. Not saying what that wanker said is right, but he wont be the 1st and not the last either to try and make political mileage from it.

See Captain Fuckwit Joh Howard the other day jumping out of his seat like Menzies just rose from the dead. He wouldn't know a soccer ball if you fucked him with it.

If you have a bunch of time on your hands and you want to see how funny it can be winding up the English about football check this thread out: http://www.newcastle-online.com/nufcfor ... 338.0.html

If you don't want the time, take this posting as a funny sampler (and read the quotes it puts it in to context): http://www.newcastle-online.com/nufcfor ... #msg438220
- When trouble arises and things look bad, there is always one individual who perceives a solution and is willing to take command. Very often, that individual is crazy.

Valid point there norbs. Of course Melbourne was actually hosting the games, but its still a valid point. I just hate shit like that.

Let me put it this way...they opened up adelaide oval to show a football match thats still considered a minority sport in this country...and it wasn't even a 1/4 final yet.

Ever been to the casino? That's where i watched the match and the place was FULL from top to bottom. Security guy confirmed it was at capacity. Happy to say 95% aussie fans too.

Sheer weight of numbers of people getting behind our guys and cheering the fuck out of them and experiencing all the emotions that go with a world cup certainly cant do any harm.

Even if there's a slight sour taste cos of how it ended I'm very confident that a lot of people who started to show an interest will remember how much fun they were having and there will definately be a positive flow on effect.
We would have been better off going down 1-0 with a goal that was worth something, I'm sure people would have taken it better. As it was all the non-soccer fans I've talked to today (that have been into the world cup) have just gone on about how gay it is because they are all a bunch of diving girls. I'm sure they will all go back to watching AFL & League now.
Is that gay as in "Aussie Rules players taking 2 weeks off for a "twinge" in the muscle" type gay????
I see tons of Aussie Rules players fall over in "supposed" agony after a little bitch slap too, if they think it will sway the umpire.
Simulation is a part of all sports (Schumacher/Rascasse) and those who only see it in one are deluding themselves or too embarrassed to admit that they have a closed mind, so just ignore them.

Well Ghana and Spain quickly fell away too so it surprises me to find that I'd quite like Argentina to have a good run considering how easy on the eye their style of play is this time around, although they can also be the very worst when they play cynical. I'd mention the other team I'd probably support but I don't feel like becoming a pariah.
