bit of an update....
wacked in the new psu
played BF2 - 90% better, still the odd problem, but nowhere near as bad....
decided to try 2 other games (that I havent played in ages) that used to give me similar errors.
GTL and Trackmania:sunrise.
To my surprise, both of the games work perfect!
no funky green/purple textures...

LFS is fine by the way, always has been...
