I'm still running 2000 SP4 so I know what you mean. It seems like support for 2000 is starting to end, although I don't want to waste my money on XP when Vista is so close... :(

but considering the cost of adobe premiere and FSX, adding the cost of XP home doesnt add up to that much more overall :tilt:

and arent you still a student GT? isnt there a discount?

its cheap as! OEM copy. Also upgrading to Vista will be cheaper.

Remember you bought LFS, why not buy the bloody OS its running on!

The fact is i have seen dodgy results from pirated XP's. Im happy with 2000 as it is stable, fast and i own a legal copy of it.

In Japan a brand new copy of XP costs like 380 bucks!!

I was sh*tting myself when my harddrive failed and I left my XP setup disc back in Australia...

Is that XP SP2 or 1?
I've heard SP2 plays up with pirated copys.

which is why I still only have sp1

I use my computer for some work so any software I use for making money (which has to include the operating system) I most certainly pay for. :tilt:

Same here mate, not that i make much money off my com but its a bit...

And I saw Sp1 screwing up, as well as hearing many probs with Sp2. And i would guess that there are a fre progs for XP that need sp2 neway
