I think anyone that says the physics of the two cars is exactly the same is just kidding themselves. The ford is a more stable car. You can get on the gas alot ealier, you also need to be on the gass to bring the tail of the car around. The holden is a more directional car, more point and squit. But to get the same lap times out of the ford as you do in the holden you have to drive it harder.

These are only differences in the hdv's.

VZ
FLUndertray=(0.60, -0.000, -0.81)
FRUndertray=(0.60, -0.000, -0.81)
RLUndertray=(0.60, -0.000, 0.38)
RRUndertray=(0.60, -0.000, 0.38)

BA
FLUndertray=(0.60, -0.000, -0.86)
FRUndertray=(0.60, -0.000, -0.86)
RLUndertray=(0.60, -0.000, 0.35)
RRUndertray=(0.60, -0.000, 0.35)

As far as I can find these define the position of the wheels in relation to the center of the axle. I don't know how much it would affect handling, but given that both cars have the same aero, engine, gearbox, suspension etc, I really doubt there would be any difference in straight line speed. Motec+Monza would answer that question. :)

The front splitter of the BA is longer. That's it. I can tell you right now there are no other physics differences. That's from Cubits on the beta forum.

Cubits said that all it means is that the Ford's front will hit the ground more easily under braking but you'd have to be running pretty soft to do that anyway.

Next round being Pukekohe, just thought I'd give you a heads up for lap times. This is from v8x.com.au:

Current Lap Record: Greg Murphy, Holden Commodore VZ, 56.0781s, 2005.

Something to aim for lads.. not unacheivable, I knocked out a 58.602 :D

Looking forward to this race, the back straight will give ample overtaking opportunities, with turns 1, 2, and 3 being the maker and/or breaker of a fast lap.

See you out on the practise tracks guys ;)

Just had a crack at Pukekohe, another fun track, got some high speed corners, low speed corners, and a nice tight 1st gear hairpin. Best after about 20 laps was a 56.738. Looking forward to the next round. :D

Just checking the figures and responses, but if MPR ran a V8Factor server, would there be enough use to warrant it being installed? I know there are several Aussie servers (XGN run a good one), but we've talked about installing it over the past 2 days or so.

Our server machine currently runs the LFS server 24/7 at the moment, but we could always run rFactor as a sideline project. Any thoughts?

Just did my first 2 flying laps a Puk, looks to be a tough track, I don't feel good at all through the first sector so I don't think I'll be as strong here as I was at the Valley. That said, I'll keep working on it.

Oh, my second lap was a 57.3 IIRC.

It's up to you guys Ezy with regards to the server, I won't say it isn't needed at this time but I will say I've found it hard to get a decent race on the XGN server thus far due to lack of numbers.

Maybe I just get on the XGN server when nobody else does. :?

shonky: that is maybe because rfactor isnt as easy to jump in and race, like LFS is. Half the time im ready to race and I have to wait for the server to finish before I can even join, I end up getting the shits and not even bothering...
V8Factor just needs more organised races.

You are probably right SE1Z, the other thing that pisses me off is when I do join a server with a good amount of people on it, its on bloody practice for an eternity, whats with all the servers set to 1 hour of practice with the race set to 5 laps, that drives me insane, I try voting to to move to the race but almost always someone doesn't want to race, they'd prefer to practice and the server ends up stuck on practice, at this point I usually leave.

FFS, if you just want to practice people, do it off bloody line! :bang:
