if im not mistaken, with motec you have to get the car tuned to a state that you like. then you have to get the motec box locked by a motec technician?

thats what i always thought, fairly certain i read on OCAU that it stops people from taking their cars in for rego inspections, getting it passed then switching to another tune which is against the sound/pollution regs.

exactly what i do with my R6 and power commander... after paying a dude to do a fuel map for the stock exhaust, chucked it on in NSW for rego and then got home, swapped headers/pipe and goto setting number 3... called RoadKill on my pc... :P

lmao.. well, here in SA we dont have any of that vehicle checking shit.. so we just do what ever the hell we want, until we get defected, then we're pretty well fucked.
