Almost, it's set to FXR, not FXO.

Or has Hz got it wrong?

Yeah shouldn't be a problem Peptis. We'll probaby run the event after patch X is released so we don't know what the end racer/spectator ratio will be but I'm sure we'll have a few speccy spots.

Ermm.. isn't the code for the FXO-GTR.. FXR??

P'raps I'm just reading it all wrong.. loaded with the flu at the moment, so the brain is only on 1/8th power.. hell, when it's on full power, it can barely light an LED..

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Who said anything about GTR's? ;)

We'll be running the FXO not the FXR.

The car for the nevco 300 is the FXO the street version of the awd GTR class car.

Got it now? :D

So..........what's the opinion on the FXO after today's little session?

Basically the FXO doesn't turn, and there is bugger all draft, not really suited to this type of event in my opinion.

Mr Hz, the FXO may need a re-think.

In my opinion from todays testing session the FXO isnt the best car for this type of event for the following reasons.

Being FWD the rear floats A LOT in the corners, esp the last turn. This makes it rather difficult to drive 2 wide, the person on the inside has to driver a tighter corner exit resulting in oversteer or sliding into the outside cars line. Im not saying you cant drive 2 wide it just leaves a lot more room for error & will most probably result in more caution periods.
This is evident the most in the last corner as the inside line tends to be mid track.

The draft. What draft! You need to be able to read the guy in fronts exhaust serial number before you get any affect.

Personally the GTR's provide much better racing due to the increased grip levels and tow available.
maybe the RWD XRT would be a better choice if you dont want to go with the GTR's.

Yeah the FWD isn't suited really, if you need to make evasive action they are more of a handful to get back under control then the GTR's and will probably cause more accidents. I think reducing cautions is one of the main reasons for the decision to go FXO's but as I said it looks like that won't be the case and the other side effects of little draft and lack of intensity let it down too.

Hey Hz, what happened to this ???????
MSN Convo with Hz-Lab about the Nevco 300.

KNAPPO: Hey Hz, just thought.....do the GTR's have the new blast handy capping?
Hz: they sure do
KNAPPO: awesome
Hz: thats one of the things we are ironing out
KNAPPO: f**kin awesome
Hz: they will be pretty even
Sorry to bring this up but after testing the FXO it would just be way too cool to have balanced GTR's.

Well, FXO was initially thought of due to its floaty nature, and the fact it does require a bit of backing off into last corner. Making it not so boring as a flat to the floor alternative.

It's not locked in just yet, i'll do a little testing this week.

Probably the main reason for going for a slower car was to avoid as many cautions, as 30 odd GTR's is gonna make for some chaos unless everyone spends a bit of time practising. which i doubt everyone will do...

However, if this combo is creating more cautions, then i'm not against a rethink. Might go back to GTR's after all..

Stay tuned...

Ideally, GTR's would be my 1st choice, just a little worried about 80% race distance under yellows..lol

Mate we had a few blokes on this afternoon testing a variety of cars and i must say (and i think i speak for 99% who were in the server) the UFR OWNES.
Mad close racing which went to 4 wide on many occasions with out much incident, loads of grip and an awesome draft. Sooooo much fun

in my opinion the UFR is more fun than the GTR's ;)

Shonky & I will be on the MPR server tonight so pop in and have a thrash.

Ohh that does sound interesting, quick enough but close and able to be clean isn't that what we are after.
