New App: LFS TeamSpeak

Post by Peptis »

I've made a new app that interfaces with LFS and TeamSpeak. It places the name of anyone who is talking in the same TeamSpeak channel as you onto the LFS screen.

Requirements:
LFS W20 or later (X works)
.NET 2.0

Download link:
http://peptis.org/lfs/LFSTeamSpeak/LFSTeamSpeak.zip

Here's a screenshot:

Follow these steps to use it:

1. Fire up TeamSpeak
2. Fire up LFS
3. Type /insim 29999 into LFS
4. Fire up the LFS TeamSpeak application

You will need to edit config.xml if your address or InSim port differs from 127.0.0.1:29999.

Feel free to experiment with the other values in the file.

Other Stuff:

This is a kind of pre-release. I'm hoping to iron out all of the bugs before posting it on the official LFS forum, so I'd appreciate your help in testing this.

I'm also looking for suggestions, so if you have one please post it here.

Nice Peptis,
I know Funky has another app that he found somewhere that does the same thing but a dedicated LFS one is a great idea.
I will give it a try and report back, one improvement suggestion I can think of already is having the placement of the name configurable to any area of the screen, if it can be done that is.

Its called TeamSpeak Overlay http://www.teamspeakoverlay.com/

Also peptis, how does it handle multiple people talking at the same time? i would assume it stacks the names of people in a column?

Flinty: If you open the config.xml file you can change where it draws the buttons. It should be pretty self-explanatory, but you can get it to draw the buttons horizonally/vertically and in any direction you like.

R8: Yep, it just draws the buttons according to the settings in the XML file.

I used this for the first time last night. Excellent work and thanks Peptis, really neat and handy program. Never felt the need for it before but lately, MNR has had about 15 drivers on TS and you lose track of which voice is which. Except for Funky of course. :)

Thanks guys, I appreciate the feedback.

It looks like I might be merging this app with Gai-Luron's (the guy who's re-doing the stats thingy) similar app. It'll have to wait until I find some time though as I'm pretty busy at work at the moment.
