Watching the NFS viper vid on youtube reminded me also of the PC version of Road Rash
The loser vids
The winner vids
The busted vids
The wrecked vids
Watched the Paw - Jessie music video way too much

loved the original 3DO and PS1 version of NFS1, but getting back to Gran Turismo ....
Gran Turismo - PD Studio Tour - Kaz and his story - bred young
and some incar views of GT5:P Needs some tweaks and the AI still seem to suck. But looks ok for some early vids and i can only hope the full GT5 slated for next year will rock even more - InCar Driver View

from that incar movie, the physics look shit as ever.
and when are they going to update that crappy tyre skidding sound!

That 430 sounds more like a 13b in that video than a 4.3v8 ....

Its only a prologue version (and an early vid at that) and i'm sure the full GT5 will deliver much more realism when it comes out next year.
And tyre sounds .... mmmm .... i find LFS more annoying in that department . But i do agree that the sounds of GT5:P do need some work (and Sambo, now that you mention it the engine does sound a bit like a 13B). Can't wait to hear what the actual 13B rotaries sound like

I think it is going to provide some fun online racing.

I have discovered recently that I am actually having more fun with the more simple games. It's probably the fact that I don't have time for games like LFS anymore that contributes to it. I would be stoked if GT5 was just good fun to play online.

Thats fair enough I suppose, but then there are other people who have more fun with more technical games too. Its hard to make everyone happy I'm not expecting GT to be "LFS"-esk, its still a mainsteam game afterall. But if they can pickup where it left off and finish all the small things it was lacking then I'd be happy enough. There are still alot of big question marks about the online gameplay this will provide, but they have had enough time to work on it so you'd think it would be decent. I'm not just talking netcode here, although thats probably the most important bit. But things like how cars are grouped in classes, modifications allowed online, setups, etc etc.

Don't get me wrong, I love in depth racing games, it's just that I don't have time for it at the moment. I'm back in console mode. Plug and play all the way for me atm. System requirements for my current gaming. Couch - Check, Power - Check, TV - Check.
I'm sure there will be enough interest here from peeps to get them online and racing.
Just out of interest, what have people manage to get in regard to online ranking with GT HD? I have had a couple of blats with the tuned Ferarri and I think I was ranked about 80 or something. Have holidays in the coming weeks, I'm going to see how close I can get to top 10. Haven't tried my DFP with it either.

i'm with righty on this one. I find LFS too time consuming to play right now, so i enjoy much more simpler and fun games to play.

I'm with righty and spoonsports with this one too... Mainly because I don't have a wheel or a decent PC atm
Why don't we set up a thread her on ARSE with best times on GT:HD to keep us occupied till GT5:P hits?

Actually good point, time for sims is hard to find. I actually have been playing Colin McRae Dirt... hardly a sim but it offers a lot of fun without a learning curve, plus I can use my PC gamepad instead of old chunky momo racing.

GT5:P will be a very good game (albeit with some common GT flaws). And its just a small taste of what the full 'improved' version of GT5 will bring to us mid next year. I dont care what anyone says .... god bless PD and Kaz for giving me Gran Turismo In saying that though, i doubt i'll get a PS3 and GT5:P, and instead will wait until next year when the PS3 might be cheaper and GT5 the full version comes out (i'm sure an improved GT5 specific improved G25 will make its debut too). But who knows, i might sell a kidney and try and get a good set up earlier.
Read that at final gear. Great idea if you ask me!!

The test track used by Top Gear's Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond will be recreated inside GT5.
Best idea ever. Gives the general public the chance to drive a plethora of cars against the stig's times! :P
The better include whatever the 'reasonably priced car' is at the time too!
Also hearing rumours of a new GT5 stlyed G25 wheel close in the works. I always knew Logitech would bring out a GT5 specific wheel, so i'm glad i held off getting an orignal G25.
