OzSport Broadcast Test Race (Sign-Up)

Post by geezer45 »

For several months now, members of the OzSport team have been laying the foundations for the first ever broadcast league in Australia. At present, we are deciding whether to give the green light on what will be a very ambitious undertaking. The first major step toward making this decision is for us to host a test broadcast race. From this 'dress rehearsal' we will produce a trial broadcast and in the process gain invaluable knowledge on what we're potentially getting ourselves into.

***RACE DETAILS***
Note: Race mail will be PM'd to drivers closer to race date.
When: Wednesday 14 Nov, Qual @ 8.30pm EST
Server: OzSport
Track: South City Sprint 1 Reverse
Laps: 30
Vehicle: FO8 w/handicaps (70kg extra weight & 20% air intake restriction)
TeamSpeak Server (OzSport channel): 202.60.67.121:8767 (password to be provided in race mail)
Special Conditions: All participants must be on TeamSpeak for the duration of the event. The TeamSpeak channel will be recorded for the entire event. We intend to use audio grabs for the broadcast itself. Please ensure that general banter on TeamSpeak is kept to a minimum during the qualification sessions and the race proper. We do however encourage displaying your emotion through voice, such as when you execute a great passing maneouvre or are involved in an incident. This shall make for great TV!! :D

***PRACTICE***
The OzSport server is currently set up for practice for this event. Password is OzRocks (this will be changed on race night). Remember, the FO8 you will drive on the night will have 70kg extra weight and 20% air intake restriction applied.

***QUALIFYING***
10 minute open session, followed by Top 10 Shootout. The polesitter of the shootout will be required to save their replay and send it to myself or dwayno after the event. This is so we can have the least laggy onboard pole lap footage for the sake of the broadcast.

***SETUPS***
Thanks to MAM for South City Sprint 1 Reverse qualifying set. MAM has agreed to provide his race set once he has developed it enough to last 30 laps. Note: You are not have to use this setup. The idea is for this to a) be used as a base setup from which drivers can modify to suit their individual styles, b) help the drivers (like myself) who don't have enough timeand/or struggle to set up their car.

Qual Setup: MAM's South City Sprint 1 Qual Setup (handicaps applied) UPDATED!!
Race Setup: MAM's South City Sprint 1 Race Setup (handicaps applied) NEW!!

***SUPP REGGS***
Supplementary Regulations will follow shortly. In the meantime, I can safely say that we will be using a safety car and drivers will not be allowed to warp to the pits during the race, unless specifically told to do so by race control.

***ENTRIES***
All spots have now been filled/reserved. May teams who are yet to nominate all drivers please confirm their driver line up. I will send PMs on Sunday to remind competitors that the race is on this Wednesday night, and to give them a chance to confirm their driver line up.

The race is recorded post-event as a video with commentary, replays, interviews etc, just like a real TV broadcast.
