And its been know since release that downloading the Update via the console is slow as fuck!
the internet features dont work on the ps3. that is a problem.

the RROD has been fixed now, and it dosent cost you anything to get your own console fixed.

it dosent work?

Half the time i get disconected from the PSN or the other half it refuses to connect.

and like i said, my 360 and PC are all running off the same switch/ethernet line so its not an internet issue from my end.

Downloaded the new update today, I can tell the sound has improved...

Although, online is starting to bug me. I didn't mind it before, racing with euro pests didn't bother me because of the penalty system, but I'm getting punted off the track more then ever now =[

I finally got myself a DFGT wheel and a PS3. Been bugging the missus for ages and she finally crumbled.

Online play is essentially bad. But with the full version of GT5 allowing private invite only races things will only improve (remembering that this is a prologue version). A few of my ole Gran Turismo buddies that i've raced offline with for ages have semi regular race nights where they simply all 'search' for an online game at exact intervals (ie they all press search at exactly every 10 minutes according to the online clock) and more often than not you will be matched up with your mates. Not perfect, but it does let you race friends most of the time.

The incar view is good, but i find that i'm a wee bit faster with the good ole Gran Turismo bumper cam.

If any of you guys are interested you can do some offline stuff with a few buds and myself over at Torctalk. I'm still plowing through the AI in order to unlock everything, but i have enjoyed some simple hotlap challenges set up by Oldtimer -

Looking forward to working my way through the game some more and driving some great cars

Suzuka full circuit, 2007 GT-R, mild active steering, standard physics, ASM & TC & best line all off.

I don't even have a PS3, let alone the game. A pity - it would look quite nice on the Bravia...

In a very interesting statement at E3 today, GT series creator Kazunori Yamauchi brought us both good and bad news. The good news is that he confirmed that the Polyphony Digital team was focusing nearly all of their efforts on Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, working hard to bring us features like vehicular damage, private online races, new tracks, and more cars. Of course, there ain’t no such thing as a free lunch, and he added that these updates could push the full version of Gran Turismo 5 back into 2010. He also confirmed that Gran Turismo Mobile, for the PSP, is still in “active development” but probably not be released until after Gran Turismo 5 (in other words, 2011).

Well I've just done some laps in the gtr at suzuka. 2:11.050 i think it was, something along those lines anyway. I can see a low 2:10 high 2:09 with afew more laps. But a 2:06???? WTF?

Anyone still having a crack of this from time to time? Picking up a PS3 sometime this week as well as GT5:P and was wondering how you go about getting some online racing done with local folks (if that is even possible yet). Any regular organised racing happening?

Been doing lots of laps at the Suzuka 650PP Ferrari event. The new California seems to be the quickest of the bunch, but the F430 and ole 512B are not too far behind. But typical me, i am intent on getting the 599 beastie up to speed (which is impossible ... but i keep on truckn').

The public servers still dish up alot of crashing idiots, but in between all the rubbish you can get the odd good race.

I though a few more A.R.S.E members might still be playing?
