If you have any gear that you want to sell or swap, post in here.

To get things off and going. :)

Canon 30D $700 I bought it off OCAU about 2 months ago. Works fine. It has a few marks on it, especially the hotshoe, but is in perfect working order.
28-135mm IS USM $350 This lens is about 2 years old. It has had a few bumps which makes it vignette on a full frame camera at times. Would be fine on the 30D with its cropped sensor.
17-40f/4L $700 This lens in about 12 months old. Comes with hood. I have hardly used it. SOLD

All gone to eBay.

How many actuations has the 30D done Norbs?

And is the 30D a side step from the 400D, or an upgrade, I like what the 400D does for me, but would prefer a larger body, the 400D is just bit hard to hold at times.

I got it 2nd hand myself, so I couldnt tell you. I reckon the 30D is a big step up from any of the 3/4xx series. Bigger, metal body and better build all round. The 3/4xx series feel cheap and nasty to me.

The 400D has 10MP as opposed to 8MP of the 30D.

Full comparo here.

What norbs said. I would grab it myself, but I don't have enough cash to pay bills at the moment. So no luxury for me. The 10mp vs 8mp isn't really a big deal image quality is a little better out of the 30D in fact due to it not having that anti-dust bizzo on the sensor.

??

That's the first time I hear someone making such claims. Would you say that the iq in 1dsMKII is better than in 1dsMKIII due to the older one not having anti-dust thingy ?? Sorry, I just don't believe it.

I just Googled and found no such claims Nige. Where did you get that from?

Oooo, thats a nice feature of phpBB3. When I hit submit, Markus' new post came up.

Yeah, what Markus said also.

I remember when the brought out the 400D. The image quality was slightly down on the 350D due to the way in which the anti-dust thingy works. It might be better by now. And anyway, the sensor on the flagship DSLR isn't even remotely the same as on the 400D.

I think you are the 1st person I have heard claim that Nige. You still got the 350D? Be good to see a comparo. It could have been because of the size of the pixels on the sensor?

I dunno. I could be mistaken, I seem to remember hearing it when the 400D came out. It might have been the megapixles

I always heard it was more noise due to the smaller pixel size. :tilt:

300D had better image quality than the 350D in my opinion and that was probably due to pixel size/density. Wouldn't surprise me if it was the same situation for the 400D.

Fair enough mate. Just make sure you factor in shipping and the warranty issue.

Nope. But if I was spending that coin, I would want a warranty. Mine is $700 AU, $799US + postage is a fair whack more. But hey, its up to Shonky. I dont need to sell it. Be good if I could, but it aint critical.

So he's paying 799US+ whatever for the same camera as Norbs is offering for 700AUD?

But from B&H it is new. And I think Shonky will have to buy a Mack warranty as well. I dont think OS bodies have an Aussie warranty. Not 100% on that.

Just to be clear, I have no grudge with Shonky. Just wanted to point out to Pix that there is quite a price difference. Go for it shonkmeister, its a ripper camera.

Oh, and just so as you know Shonk, the 40D is under $1300 locally now. Thats a bloody good deal too.

Don't know about the used cam market in Australia, but over here you can get a used 1dmkII with ~50000 shots (and with an in-store warranty) for about the same price as a 40d or a used 1dmkIIn for the price of a 40d+kit lens.
