I just downloaded MAGIX Ringtone Maker for my el-cheapo handset. You can overlay tracks, speed it up, simulate the ringtone, cut etc. Seems pretty good to me
The full-feature trial version available at the usual spots.

I've have mine for a week now and I think its awesome.. but there are few "WTF" moments with it (Can't delete one sms - hafta get rid of the whole conversation for that person)
There is a lot to like about the iPhone, but still I don't know if I want one. No running background apps?? What if I want to read an address from SMS when looking at GPS? No alarm when it is turned off? Nokia has been doing it for years. I dont want my phone on all night, but I do want it to wake me up.

Hmmm.
Because the phone understands addresses (and lots of others things) as data detector. You'd tap the address in the SMS. The phone opens Maps and displays the location with a pin. I understand the point about background apps but looking back with 6+ years of Nokias, I'd honestly only used the switch app function 7-10 times. Then again I must use my phone differently to you.
You really power off your phone every night? Because the iPhone goes into deep sleep after 15mins. Like OS X, I've never missed an alarm. I'm just a tad shocked tis all

Good point about the SMS to maps thing. I do use multiple apps on the N95 quite a lot. But maybe the IPhone will do things in a different way. I need to play with one me thinks.
And yes, most nights the phone goes off. Stops calls from my whacky mates over seas that have fucked up the time conversion.
Same, my phone mostly lives in silent. Steve just swipe to unlock and up the volume a bit. You might have had the volume on one bar or something. iPhones do the whole volume thing differently I've found.
