My New Girl - Jade
After having to part with my last girl Sky (VX SS), I have been on the search for a new girl.
After about 3 months of searching I have found Jade (95 VS Holden Commodore). The VS has always been one of my favourite Commodores. Just wish she was manual but didnt have that much to spend with.
Couple of happy snaps of Jade

sorry mate, but it ain't no VX... It's a VS. A few generations difference.
just for comparison:
still a nice car you got there! My first car was a VP, two models below that but same chassis... had great fun with it!

Re: My New Girl - Jade
I've named many of my cars. And, have you not seen Gone in 60 Seconds?ysu wrote:seriously? naming your car? and it's a female?!?
My first car was called LK, short of Little Kar and the number plate was LK. A 1980 KE55 Toyota Corolla.
My second car was Jessicar, taken from the female name Jessica. That was a 1982 Nissan Pulsar Coupe. Not long after I made a female friend of the same name. Spooky.
My third car was Biancar, from the female name Bianca and she was a 1994 Suzuki Sierra Hardtop. I picked up a female hitch hiker in this car and her name was Bianca also. Coincidence? Probably.
My fourth was called Gemi... it was a mildly worked 1983 Holden Gemini.
My fifth car, which I still own, is called Vitamin. It's a 1993 Suzuki Vitara Estate Wagon and the name originated from when my Dad owned one when I was 16, we called that Vitamin as well.
My wife's first car, 2009 Kia Rio, is called Biskuit. The number plate is similar to the world biscuit but with a K.
My current work car is nameless. Perhaps because I don't own it. I could call her Calli though, being a Holden Callais.
And then there was The Hog which was around the time of Biancar. That was a 1980 something Ford Cortina Wagon that cost myself and two female friends $20 each. The car lasted a day, but it was a hell of a day.

Opels ( as is the original name of the brand) aren't the greatest of cars in europe. Good generic mid-class.
oh, and they give you much more in the way of extra gadgets back there.
But WV, BMW, Mercedes...these all top it easily, just to mention a few
Surprise, no sig. Now there is. Or is there?

Style?? VS?? If it were a Monaro i could kinda understand your point.... Even then, i still wouldnt agree with it. I don't for a second believe that if you had the choice of an M3/M5 and your VS, both of them sitting there, and someone said take you pick, that you would choose a VS commodore.schuey97 wrote:I easily prefer my Jade over any beemer. Re: My New Girl - Jade
RS2000 is indeed an Escort.
I'm concerned you'd pick a VS Wobblydore over a BMW M3/M5. One has a live rear axle, oversized but underpowered engines and the other is, well, sex on wheels and engineered to drive.
Let's just compare a 6 cyclinder motor of each in a 1996 version.
The Wobblydore had a massive 3.8l Supercharged Ecotech V6 pumping out an embarrasing 165kW (bahahaha)
The BMW M3 had a large 3.2l Naturally Aspirated I6 producing a massive 236kW ( )
Edit: Money would be a big deciding factor here of course

They are not even on the same page as far as cars are concerned; technology, looks, comfort, features, you name it, an m3/m5 will crap from so high on the commodore that's it's not funny.
I mean if you love it 'cause you're used to it, it's cheap and easy to service etc; good onya. But it's a far inferior car and that's not up for discussion either, sorry mate.
Surprise, no sig. Now there is. Or is there?

Re: My New Girl - Jade
I guess I prefer inferior cars ......Like I prefer a good old V8 with a carby over fuel injection anyday. I hate cruise control, ABS, traction control, All-wheel drive, etc. I like a car to be mechanical, not with all this hi-technology (hey im in IT and love hi-technology but I dont like it in my cars).ysu wrote:That's scary shit indeed...schuey97 wrote:Easily the VS ......i loath beemers.

Having said that I will alwasy be happy with a Ferrari ....they are the pinnacle of motor vehicles. So much passion, soul, speed, style mmmmmmm
