For Sale - One STi, only used on weekends...

Post by VTRacing »

This car has to go. :( To make way for something better. :) Tell your friends!
FOR SALE

2004 Subaru WRX STi

Built by the factory for Toshi Arai Motorsport in 2004. Used as his 3rd car.

2009 Queensland Rally Championship winning car

Top Run comprehensive steel cage.

Chassis fully seam-welded, towers reinforced, sill-stands. The shell is very strong.

MCA suspension with STi top mounts

Subaru brakes 4 pot front, 2 pot rear with DBA slotted & vented rotors w/ spares. Ferodo pads w/ spares.

Hydraulic handbrake

Engine rebuilt 3 events ago with new block and STi forged pistons (350 km competitive). Variable valve timing.

New twin-scroll Turbo 2 events ago (220 km competitive)

Motec engine management w/ anti-lag, boost-controlled water spray etc.

STi 6-speed synchro with DCCD controlled by Motec. Thumbwheel adjustment.

Plated LSD front and rear (R180 of course)

PBMS Fibreglass light pods with genuine Hella Predator HID Lights

Carbon door trims with aluminium honeycomb side impact protection

Flocked dash

Sabelt Taurus driver's seat w/ head restraint wings (FIA compliant), Recaro co-driver's seat (FIA compliant)

6-point FIA harnesses (12 months old)

Peltor FMT 110 Intercom

Coralba Giant with carbon door mount

Comprehensive underbody protection: Sump guard, transmission guard, fuel tank guards, rear diff guard and fibre/kevlar underbody protection (new)

12 x STi WORK wheels with some good used Pirelli tyres

PBMS Fibreglass light pods with genuine Hella Predator HID Lights

Spares include a full set of KYB Rally struts, front and rear driveshafts, 4 x Front Arms, a full set of rear arms, tie rods / tie rod ends, sway bar links, assorted 2nd hand rotors and calipers (good condition)

This is a meticulously prepared car that would be outright competitive in any state-level rallying, and top 5 ARC capable. The car is very strong and reliable; we've had one mechanical DNF in 2.5 years (15 events).

The car is currently in PRC trim with 34mm restrictor but it would be an easy change to return to Group N for International events like 2011 Rally Australia.

$46,000 negotiable.

No child seat, no. But it does have a net which will cradle your baby in maximum comfort.

Until you hit a jump...

I'm being what we call at work.. a 'WOFTer'. Basically applied to anyone who comes into the store and asks a bunch of questions with no intention of purchasing. I'll let you work out the acronym.

But just out of interest, what price range does a rally car go for?

I will put a guess that it is more than I paid for the Tarago - but not by too much

From $2000 (cheap Excel or old shitter) to $200,000+ (top of the line brand new Group N EvoRex).

Top Evo 9s or MY06-08 STi (3-5 years old) are about $75-$90k. Evo 7s and 8s, and 03 to 05 STi are about $40-$50K. Evo 6s and below anywhere from $25K to $45K.

Though a good genuine MkII BDA Escort will still command $100k plus. One with a documented history (i.e driven by Roger Clark or Ari Vatanen) might be $200k+.

Can I test drive it? This weekend?
Our 76 Crown Estate Wagon needs a new head gasket, maybe I could convince the wife? It's pretty muddy in Mudgee, does it handle in the mud?

Oh, one last thing, does it come with Air-con?

If no, might have to give it a miss. . . :D

It's even better, it has ducted air.

Roof-vents are cool.

And it handles mud just fine. :)

Does it have a pop top that allows it to sleep four?

If not I might have to give it a miss.

I'm selling my car and I've already had two people email me with identical paypal scam things like that. I emailed back to one of them to see how they score the cash and they want $1000 western union transaction for the pickup agent - which they will refund of, course. This person even offered me $2k over what i've got the car up for!
