Re: Previous map
I've tried to wget it onto the server but it just downloaded a pretty much empty html document...I'll try something else later.
I really don't want to d/l and upload it from home it'd take a bit too long to upload.

Re: Previous map
I got it as well, but I tend not to keep them too long, nobody has asked for an old map before.

Re: Previous map
ok, in that case I'll not bother. tbh it's quite likely that a week or two is enough, after all.NeilPearson wrote:well i can leave it up on my server for a few months, im sure anyone who wants it will have it by then
ps. I've got insane amounts of space and d/l on this US based server, ideal for stuff like this, but I can't wget yours.
I've now tried curl as well, but every time I try to d/l it, some funny html with a frame comes down.
IMHO your d/l location is a very strange one.
...
aha. this is what I get:
Code: Select all
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01//EN"
"http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/strict.dtd">
<html>
<head>
<title>Arse Forums Minecraft </title>
</head>
<frameset rows="100%,*" border="0">
<frame src="http://www.arsecraft.weightofneil.com/Maps/world.rar" frameborder="0" />
<frame frameborder="0" noresize />
</frameset>
Now, if I wget the file reference in the frame, I get the actual file.
So your file is in fact sitting here, this is the true location;
http://www.arsecraft.weightofneil.com/Maps/world.rar" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I've downloaded it to http://ysumail.com/public/minecraft/world.rar" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
mind you if we'll host worlds, it'd be really good to version and/or date them
How did you set the arsecraft.com domain up, Neil?

Re: Previous map
I just registerd a domain in godaddy, and then forwarded it to arsecraft.weightofneil.com
I noticed when i was placing the map on the website it wouldnt load the image correctly either, and i had to direct it its proper location...

Re: Previous map
ah ok.
Doesn't your web-hosting package allow you to "park" a domain there? That'd solve these problems - the redirect is what's effing things up.
