Yeah it's the flux. I was looking at the sixsixone AM helmet too but the flux won out. A lil bit cheaper than what you road going bicyclists are using!

Re: Bikey Booty!!!! What you got fool?
Well, I just got the 661 Recon myself. It's got brilliant ventilation i must say, and is very light. But it's a big bloody helmet..lol
Also got some sun sleeves which are fricken awesome. I thought they would hold the heat in, but I chucked them on for the ride home yesterday in 33 degree sunshine and they kept me cool as a cool thing.
I had about a $700 splurge on bike apparel this week, just awaiting for it all to rock up. Good Ol' internet shopping Yeeewwww!

New Bike!!
2012 Giant Anthem X1
I was originally planning to upgrade the Strata but decided on getting a new bike instead - did a first run with some mates on the weekend and I'm glad I went with the new bike. This thing is so much nicer to ride
Off to the mountains this weekend for another bash

Christmas has come early for me!!! I got my new bike today It's a Giant flat bar road bike - nothing as flash as what the rest of you have, I'm sure - but after my 14 year old bunky Apollo, it sure feels awesome!
It'll get its first proper run tomorrow morning, can't wait

nice one Emjay, nothing better than the feeling of the first ride after upgrading an old bike.

Agreed, Humvees are tops as! Love em. Shimano Brakes however.... Did you get bigger rotors? I remember you saying you wanted to. But I see no spacers.. so maybe not.

Re: Bikey Booty!!!! What you got fool?
Nah didnt get the bigger rotars, sticking with 180 front and 160 rear, the standard rotars never over heated so I dont think I need to worry about it with the new ones.
I had an overwhelming response on the AMTBC forums and on MTB-R regarding brakes. The XT's won out big time over Elixers. What problems have you had with the Shimanos?

Re: Bikey Booty!!!! What you got fool?
I had the XT's on my Hoss, they needed rebleeding every couple of weeks due to air sneaking in through the resevoirs, I thought maybe I just didnt create a good enough seal when fitting. Turns out it was a common fault. In saying that, mine were probably like 2009 or 2010 spec, Your's look to be 2012. If it was a problem, yo, they probably solved it. I thought you had XTs on there anyway.
Anywho, you coming to Buller or what?

Re: Bikey Booty!!!! What you got fool?
Yeah nah screw sitting on your lap for 12 hours! My folks are keen to go for a drive and bum around while I'm there but I've had second thoughts anyway due to preggo missus and the required annual leave I'll need so I'm reschedualing for a ride in Victoria late next year, probably the Kona Oddysey
Yeah I got the gear from CRC. I suppose they're going to explode on me?
Tried out the shorts today and I gotta say I'm not a fan of the liner as my balls overheated on a 2km flat ride on tarmac in 25 degree weather as I was giving the bike a shakedown after maintenance..... I'll put up with a slightly sore bum over that and the hassel of creams and junk

Re: Bikey Booty!!!! What you got fool?
Really? I thought you already used a liner anyway. You've probably developed an uber arse calas (sp?) by now anyway and don't need them..lol
Buying them from CRC will not make them explode.

Re: Bikey Booty!!!! What you got fool?
Funny thing was that it wasn't the one i ordered, so it was a bit of an amusing surprisenorbs wrote:Excellent.
on that note, in the same parcel i got tubes, tyres and valve extenders. out of 4 items, 3 were substituted with something similar, but not quite what i ordered. (inflators were probably better than i ordered, tubes had a longer valve than ordered, and the valve extenders longer than ordered) not the best intro to cyclingexpress, though at least they delivered. The order took ages to be sent, so i'm guessing they were waiting on out of stock stuff to come in before making substitutions.

Nice. I am seriously considering some Speedplays. I can get a second hand set (done 300kms) with the cleats for $100!
Sarc ; my second favourite type of gasm.
