Racing with the Hamiltons: Nic in the driving seat

In 2011, 19-year-old Nic Hamilton dreamed of following his brother Lewis into motor racing. But as well as the pressure of being a Hamilton and never having raced a car in his life, Nic also has a disability that had him using a wheelchair until he was 16.

This powerful and intimate film follows the family as they try to help Nic achieve his dream. With unprecedented access we see Nic embark on a season that will determine whether he has what it takes to make a career of his own in the glamorous and dangerous world of motorsport.

Interesting prog to look out for if it gets shown in Aus. It was following Lewis Hamilton's brother Nic as he tries his hand at Renault Clio Cup racing and how he lives with his disability. He's a good lad dealing very well with a difficult condition.

Wow, I knew one of the brothers was ill, but I just assumed it was Lewis. It is well know he suffers from I.A.M.K. (I'm a massive knob).

What does his brother have kev?

It was an interesting insight into the Hamilton family, particularly Loowis' whining about not having the support he was used to last year (whilst his brother went racing).

Got to applaud Nic for having a go, and carrying on despite a major stack at Thruxton which he almost repeated in the replacement car. And also of course for getting on and having a go despite his disabilities.

Oh yeah... if you think about it Frankie Boyle has really got it right
