Due here 1st quarter next year from what I've read around the place. Looks good, but Mazdas generally have to me since they introduced the last gen Mazda 6. I'm more interested in them getting some decent drivetrains - the SkyActiv tech should be good. The current 2.5 is horribly thrashy and the gearbox isn't that intuitive. They also need to get road noise down to some really acceptable levels.

Agree with that, I'm driving a Mazda 3 Sp25 which has the same engine. Goes well in the 3 with less weight but not much bottom end, a bit of ugly torque steer and a shite gearbox. It has flappy paddles but I'm not sure why, the gearbox has no idea what's going on and won't let you change down aggressively, makes you wait till you're crawling.
The new 6 is looking the goods though, I've always loved the look of the 6.
I'm not a fan of the whole CX5 style gaping front grille but I think overall it looks better than the current car. The slash over the front wheel arch also looks overly complicated in my opinion. Still something different I guess.
As usual pretty safe compared to the concept. The front quarter shot makes it look like they just put new headlights and grille onto the old car. Interior is lifted a bit which it really needed. Hopefully it gets some decent powertrains. Bring back MPS!

Because concepts don't have to worry about packaging - about whether the boot closes, about whether you can actually seat anyone in the back seat, about pedestrian impact concerns dictating the position of hardpoints at the front, about whether the driveshafts are overstressed because the wheels are forward and the engine is back and countless other real-world concerns.
To be honest, I reckon it's not too far removed from the concept anyway. Concepts are simply that, a concept. Not too many products end up looking like Their concepts. It's just a nicer way of saying that it's unrefined.
