Re: Man points
So today I mowed lawns and cleaned gutters
but I got a root last night
so does that mean she earned some lady points and cashed them in today?

Jumped in a bobcat for the first time yesterday, had a 10 second rundown on what the controls did and spent the next couple of hours moving dirt around.
This was all in aid of rebuilding an Off Road RC track

I do, been a member of the club at Liverpool (lrrcc.com) for a while, before my little guy came along I was racing every fortnight. Got a 1/8 Nitro Buggy, Truggy and EP Buggy that I rotate each time I race.
Was going to head to the Truggy National's at Canberra this weekend but the wifes Birthday is Saturday

Where in Canberra do they race? I used to go down to an RC track near my place and run my 1/8 nitro buggy before they fixed the hole in the fence. Haven't run the car in years now though.dvestate wrote:I do, been a member of the club at Liverpool (lrrcc.com) for a while, before my little guy came along I was racing every fortnight. Yeah, I know, i feel your pain, just thought it was funny when I read your first post and thought awesome man point post, no one will come close to beating using a bobcat to make an RC track, then read your second postdvestate wrote:Unfortunately I like my life not being divorced......

Re: Man points
Just grabbed an easy 7.5MPs.
The i30 goes through headlight globes like there is no tomorrow. 6 in 60,000kms. Nearly every time at service time, so it just goes in and they replace them because it is such a carnt of a job, apparently.
Well I rang this morning to book in for 60,000km service and guess what. Fucking headlight is out. I rang them back and went all berserko on them. The service guy said to get on to Hyundai Aust and make a complaint. I then asked him how hard it was to swap out. The last 2 times the bride has picked up the car the service guy told her it is a hell of a tough job. Well, after my blast he told me it is just 3 M10 bolts then slide the headlight out. Fark! Just replaced the globe (the bride is driving to the snow late on Thu so needs both lights) in under 10 fucking minutes. The bride is very impressed that I managed something in 10 minutes that is "a hell of a job". Ching ching.

Re: Man points
So are man points only for "beta-male" related tasks or does it cover the alpha side too?
(I may have missed it somewhere in the convo, on quick glance it seems it more beta related).

If you have nothing planned over the weekend head down for a look, some of the best guys in Australia (not me obviously) will be down there. Practice and Quali rounds are Friday and Saturday morning. Finals will start Saturday arvo with the Main Final on Sunday.

Ahh cool - about 500 metres from my house. That's the one I use to run around on but they obviously fixed the hole in the fence when they decided to refurbish - it used to be pretty run down (around 2005 would have been the last time I used it I think).

Not sure how many MPs driving a bobcat is worth, or how "recent" an activity needs to be to qualify for this thread.. but last christmas i had a play in one of these for a few hours: i can highly recommend it if you get the opportunity!dvestate wrote:Jumped in a bobcat for the first time yesterday, had a 10 second rundown on what the controls did and spent the next couple of hours moving dirt around.

Norbs, looks like you were going into a tractor jousting competition. If you won, double MP's, straight up.

Forgot to post back after last weekend........
Drove a dingo, dug up about 2 tonne of soil and rock, paved the end of the carport and a path to the shed
Then moved all the dirt and rock on Sunday (Fathers Day), the sorest my body has been EVER and was dead at work on Monday until about 1pm when for about 3 hours I had a burst of energy (Thanks 11am Red Bull)
