From the vague glimpses you can get of the shape I'm really worried it's going to be a very generic looking car again, like the MP4-12C. I know it has to be functional first but it needs to look unique. The Ferraris are instantly recognisable but you have to look at a 12C for a moment before you're sure what it is.
This is the McLaren P1, the company’s all-new “ultimate supercar”. McLaren says the project has one simple goal: “To be the best driver’s car in the world on road and track.” Sources say the new model is likely to produce around 960bhp with the help of a Formula 1-style kinetic energy recovery system (KERS). The P1 is not designed to outrun a Bugatti Veyron, say insiders; it is more about exceptional lap times.
The P1 is expected to cost £800,000, but with production limited to 500 models, the P1 production run may be sold out to existing McLaren clients and high-profile collectors without going on general public sale.
Certainly a lot more fluid looking than I expected. Must be a lot of active aero going on to keep it stuck down. They've actually done well to keep it tied into the 12C visually but still look pretty crazy as a hypercar should. That's one monster diffuser.

That looks mental. Love it! I reckon I'd still have an F12 Berlinetta though.
Hope top gear get their hands on one. One thing about this long break, means they're going to have a few more interesting cars to test when they come back on air. Actually really looking forward to the new season much more than I have for a long time.

Jeremy hasn't given Ferrari very many favorable reviews lately. Yes there are other journalists who will do a better report on the car, they are also a lot less interesting to watch in my opinion.
Dex - check out Chris Harris's reviews on Drive channel on youtube. Whilst he's not quite as colourful as Clarkson, he's far from dull with enough witty euphemisms to get you by. But he's also a fantastic reviewer with enormous experience and can hang it just as sideways as JC too.

Yeah but he doesn't like the MX-5 so he obviously knows NOTHING.
But seriously, his videos are pretty good. It was one of his I launched first when I got a YouTube app for the TV.
