Warranty on something you broke? Good luck with that.
look on gumtree, there are places on that which will replace it cheaper than a shop can...

Yeah I guess 250 isn't too bad, just don't need it atm haha. Shame it wasn't just the glass, that didn't even crack lol

Well, I replaced my bloated battery, and put cyanogen mod on.
I only turn features on when I want them... so the battery has now gone 4 days without charging, and still got 15% left...

lol, I couldn't imagine using an iPhone. We had a batch of them we had to setup for the managers at work... felt like the interface was all wrong! Why put the back button all the way up there?!?! lol

Re: New Samsung Galaxy S4
Nothing on the new Galaxy S5?
Has it been met with a resounding meh?
They've bumped the camera a bit and added a heart rate monitor (aka shit we've got nothing left to add, what else can we think of). They've also relaunched their watch which probably means it hasn't sold very well.

I must be living under a rock, I knew of the S5 but I didn't know it was released, I guess I am very content with my N5.

I got the Galaxy Nexus when it came out, for just this reason - only to find out that unless you've flashed the stock android ROM, Telstra (or insert name of Australian carrier) still actually "Tests and evaluates" the android ROMS and THEN pushes their localisation of it out. My Galaxy Nexus is supposed to be getting 4.3 as of two days ago, but still nothing and still running 4.1.2

It still does if you buy outright direct from Google, if you go under contract with Telstra then you still come under the carrier's release schedule I'm guessing.Durrie wrote:Does this work now?NeilPearson wrote:I'm looking at going to a nexus 5. Get those updates straight away....

Telstra tends to be pretty hands off with customisation of their roms these days so the updates come a lot quicker than they used to, but given the age of the Galaxy Nexus I'd say updates for this aren't too high on Telstra's list of priorities, they'd rather you update to a new phone, just flash the stock rom Durrie remove Telstra from the equation.

Re: New Samsung Galaxy S4
I'm on Telstra plan with a Nexus 5. There's not one bit of Telstra bloat on it and have been ahead of others when receiving updates. Just pay more for the phone overall really.
When I was on the Galaxy Nexus, I had to use custom roms to get rid of bloatware and get updates.

I flashed my Galaxy S2 within hours of owning it. It's running a Kit Kat rom at the moment, so I get those updates straight away as well

Re: New Samsung Galaxy S4
Whelp I need help!
So few months ago, I rooted my S4 using Team Win Bootloader/root. All was fine, i installed Cyanogen mod 10, and the later 11. Seemed Fine.
Decided to install Paranoid Android Last night, Flashed fine. worked alright. Then I resbooted the phone and it wouldnt Boot past the Samsung logo. After a bit of mucking around I found if I factory Reset/Full Format and it would boot fine. Ignored it after that and then today the phone crashed and reset it self, and sadly it wouldnt book past the samsung logo again.
Factory Reset/Full Format didnt work this time. And now its stuck on the samsung logo. It wont boot into safemode either...
So I tried to install the chainfire root/bootloader and it worked fine, but same as the Team WIn, nothing past the samsung screen.
I cant access USB on my pc so i cant put a new Rom on the device to flash. Not sure what I can do. I also have very limited internet access so I cant go downloading shit willy nilly until i go to work!
Any ideas?

Re: New Samsung Galaxy S4
I had a similar thing once where I had to wipe cache and dalvik cache on my HTC One, which I thought was an oddly simple fix. I'm not sure if that will work on yours though.

I've had a similar problem on my old S2 before too, wiping the caches also did the trick. Ever since that as a matter of course whenever I installed a rom, straight after the rom was flashed I would wipe the caches before letting the phone reboot so the phone built the caches from the new rom, never had the problem again after that.
