Seen 3 E-type convertibles, top down today.... had a talk to them, heater was cranked and wearing blankets.

Yarp thought it was a bespoke model. There are so many design inspirations in it. I see Ferrari, Ko... The Swedish one, Pagani & Porsche.
On the subject of gems in garages, I'll say! I remember seeing a Mk II Ford GT40 at a car fair and thinking how incredible a replica it was. Later on I saw it again parked and whilst admiring it the owner came back, we had a nice conversation and I asked if he could could open up the engine bay expecting to see some modern donk. I was flabbergasted to be greeted with the original 427. "This is a real one!" I gasped, "yep" was the reply. Damn!

Re: Spotted anything nice lately?
I went to La Vie En Bleu at the weekend where they have lots of classics doing a hill climb.

The Beast of Turin was there! What an amazing noise! Incredible to think someone did 130mph in that 28L and only 4 cylinders.
Not my video but this is the start up.

Re: Spotted anything nice lately?
Not sure this will get any love here (where focus is primarily on performance), but this is my dream car...
6x6 Pinzgauer. I used to have a couple of Haflingers (4x4 baby brother to the Pinzgauer) in the 80s and my dream was to have one of these. There's a mob in the UK called Shropshire Gunbus that repairs/restores and sells these and they have just exported their first RHD version into Australia. Up to now there's been something like 17 in the country and they rarely change hands. I like the 70s versions (flat nose) better but the 80s versions are more likely to be obtainable, as Euro militaries (and NZ too actually) are disposing of them, and they are more sophisticated and comfortable / easier to get parts.
I'm setting a target of having one in 2 years...

Re: Spotted anything nice lately?
I forgot to post this here. A guy I've done a bit of work for over the last few years has a nice little collection. He also once had a Nissan GTR, Ferrari 360, Lamborghini Diablo and a Murcielago but sold them for various reasons. He said he's now just a Porsche guy. No idea why he kept the 430.
