Yeah saw most of these but Glenister got on my tits. He's just not that interested and comes across like an arse. I'm not sure whether it was a deliberate approach or not in order to attract a certain audience, but it annoyed me.

Some truly fantastic work done by the mechanic though.

Yep, "for the Love of Cars" is pretty crappy.

I quite like "Overhaulin". They show much more of the work they do on the cars and the attention to detail is amazing.

It is fairly "American" if you can handle that and the cars are not restored to original condition but modified heavily.
The newer seasons are better than the old ones. Season 8 started yesterday.

I've watched a few episodes of Bitchin' Rides.
Once again it's very American and the shop owner has a ridiculous goatie.

They build custom restoration customer cars, generally putting the older bodies on modern chassis.
The workmanship is art itself which is what floats my boat in a car show.....I guess that's what I didn't enjoy about For The Love of Cars where they seemed to skip over that part.

I love my car resto shows and I haven’t had a fix for a while so I did a little research yesterday and found that one of the most highly regarded is called Wheeler Dealers. I’ve heard of it before but didn’t bother with it.
Anyway I downloaded a few episodes of seasons 12 and 13 and I reckon it's quite good.

A couple of Pommie blokes, (I think the first seasons are made in England and they've just shifted to the U.S.), buy pieces of shit and fix them up and sell them for what must be said, a pretty tiny profit. They obviously make their money from the TV show.
The mechanic is fantastic and seems to know a shit load of things about the obscure.

I think it’s definitely worth a look…..don’t start with episode 9 of season 13 as it’s just a hash of bits from all the other episodes.

Yeah I've watched Wheeler Dealers quite a bit on paytv when I've visited my mum, good show especially for all the practical know how. There was also a different type of car show I liked but don't remember the name of, a guy in the states who would go around finding exotics/classics for people looking for particular cars or to go to auction, sourcing them from collections or hiding in the back of old garages etc.

I'm downloading some episodes of Restoration Garage and Chasing Classic Cars, (I think that might be the one you're talking about Sars), at the moment. I'll be interested to see what they are like.

At the end of each Wheeler Dealer episode they say what their spend is and how many hours they put into each project.
In the last episode that I watched they made a grand total of $15 per hour each and they seem to be happy with that. LOL.

Just started Speed is the New Black which has a fair amount of fab work which is what I like. It's worth a watch so far.

Restoration Garage and Chasing Classic Cars didn't do it for me.

Have you seen Project Binky? Couple English guys decided to put a Celica GT4 motor and running gear in a 1980 Mini.

They thought it would take months, but it's been 5 years so far as they've ended up pretty much rebuilding the car from scratch and going fairly overboard with it
