Re: Not Top Gear
I think it comes down to does someone want a car reviewed or an entertainment show that partly features cars in it. As you said you enjoyed the production value. I'm still in mindset I get more solid information about a car from YouTube vids in say the 7-20min format.Santaria wrote:Man you guys are hard to please.
I'm happy to have different views and I'm certainly not trying to change yours

Re: Not Top Gear
I really enjoyed it. Slick production and the guys just showing what the new top gear lacks - chemistry.

I enjoyed it, but find myself wondering if they have missed an opp. to change it up. It really is TG under another name (which isnt a bad thing). Hoping they add some new stuff going forward...all in all 8 out of 10...

Re: Not Top Gear
I thought it was good. Had a nice positive mood to it. Hoping the celeb bit was their way of saying they wouldn't be doing that in this show but I guess we'll find out next week.
Only bit I wasn't sure about was the American driver and his jokes. They could get old fast.
My download wouldn't play in windows but it worked fine in Linux. No DRM shit there. Can't see myself getting another subscription on top of Stan and Netflix. Seems like I'd be paying for 12 episodes of this show and a lot of overlapping content. Amazon has music though, so maybe that would make up for it.

Re: Not Top Gear
i just started watching it and the intro is a bit cringey with it's Americana. Leaving dreary England and them rocking up in red, white and blue Mustangs with the lyrics 'Here is that rainbow I've been praying for, It's gonna be a bright, bright sunshiny day'

With Amazon footing the (collosal) bill what did you expect?
I thought it was damn entertaining.

This wasn't lag, I grabbed the torrent and sent it up to the seedbox, but it didn't complete because it was pulled from the tracker and the site, I'm guessing they got a takedown request since it still isn't back up or it was nuked.

Re: Not Top Gear
Well, a bit of jizz came out at that Vulcan
On the whole it wasn't too bad, but that military segment was too long, and they've played the dead guest joke again...It could have been done 15 minutes less time and be more enjoyable I reckon.

Re: Not Top Gear
Looks like they haven't had enough time to play with the format after the first one, but the Celebrity and American bits are already tedious. The vulcan was fantastic, the change of locations and the localised jokes are hitting the right spots for me. Just need more cars and less acting

Re: Not Top Gear
Agreed GT. Vulcan bit was great. I wasn't a fan of the special forces thing. Too long and not enough cars. It mostly just wasn't funny.

You guys are better than me, I gave up after the first 5min intro of episode 1.
