Codemasters F1 2018 Confirmed For August Release
Codemasters has revealed the release date for their upcoming F1 2018 racing title. The official video game of the 2018 FIA Formula One World Championship will become available on Friday, August 24 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC (DVD and Steam).

The follow-up to last year’s official F1 game will include all the tracks, cars, and drivers of the 2018 FIA Formula 1 season. With the real-world return of the French and German Grands Prix, the F1 2018 game will also include the Circuit Paul Ricard and Hockenheim tracks. Furthermore, you can expect more historic Formula One cars and an extended career mode. We will keep you posted when more new enhancements are revealed.

We were delighted by the reception that the highly-acclaimed F1 2017 game received, and are extremely excited to be able to further build on such a strong starting point with F1 2018” said Paul Jeal, F1 Franchise Director at Codemasters. “Over the past few years we have engaged heavily with our fan-base to understand what is important to them, and we cannot wait to unveil more details on features we know our fans will love.

Career mode has been further expanded to immerse players even deeper into the world of F1 than before, with the return of a highly requested feature back into the franchise. We are also adding more classic cars, again listening to our fans as to which of the historical F1 cars they would most like to virtually drive next. Outside of those headline additions, there are many other great enhancements to be revealed before the game launches.”
Thanks to a Tweet by Game Director Paul Jeal, F1 2018 may soon be welcoming the BMW-Sauber F1.08 and Sauber’s first entrant, the C12.

Game director Lee Mather wrote:"A lot of the fans have been asking what we’re going to do with the halo. So what we’ve actually done is, the halo’s present on all of the cars. Y’know, we represent the sport correctly — that’s part of the sport, it’s one of the big additions this year. But if you’re playing in cockpit camera, obviously that can be quite an obscuring item in the front of your vision. So we actually allow the player to disable the central column of the halo.”

Anyone pulled the trigger & purchased it yet???

Codemasters proudly released the latest iteration of the official video game of the FIA Formula One World Championship. The F1 2018 game is now available worldwide for the PlayStation4, the Xbox One, Xbox One X, and Windows PC (DVD and via Steam). Codemasters also published the official F1 2018 TV advert shown above.

F1 2018 features all the official teams, the drivers and all 21 circuits of the thrilling 2018 season, including Circuit Paul Ricard and the Hockenheimring. It includes a host of new features, and besides the current season’s offerings, the game includes 20 iconic cars from the history of the sport.

Our main aim with F1 2018 was to get even closer to replicating the real world sport and we believe that we have made significant improvements both on and off the track, said Lee Mather, Game Director, F1 2018.
The visual recreation of the sport, including the iconic heat haze, atmospherics and new lighting system, is closer than ever and we have added even more depth to the Career by reworking the Research & Development system for each of the teams as well as introducing the press interviews which will play a key role in how you are seen within the world of F1.
Certain teams look for different characteristics in a driver and it is up to you whether you choose to exhibit sportsmanship or showmanship when put under pressure. We cannot wait for players to get their hands on the game
.
Mather added: The in-game suspension and chassis now refresh at 1000htz meaning that the simulation is far more authentic. For example, you can really feel the difference between the modern day cars, with their advanced aerodynamics and downforce, when compared to the classics which rely more so on pure tyre grip, making them an incredibly involving drive.

My trigger operates on the Z-axis. This games only seems to have X and Y available.

I've found the Z-axis too. Life in the Z-axis is bliss! They've missed the boat big time on this. I know they have dead lines with this title but hopefully that Z-axis can be activated at some point.
