Fired up this afternoon and it's doing a full 95GB update.

That's weird. No issues with the drive it was installed on?

I think the update the other day was incomplete and maybe something was corrupted in the process.

Re: Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020!
So apparently if the download stops, you can kill the program, then go to the package repository, delete the last completed file, then restart the program and it'll start again from the file you removed. I had to do this after my download choked with about 15GB left to go this afternoon.
I then had only 2 planes showing in my hangar. I had to reboot and then re-download all the planes/airfields in the content list (30+GB).
Now I seem to have everything again and my cockpit glass in the Cessna 172 has come back.
I'm glad for unlimited internet data quotas these days.

If you guys want to try something a bit different, check out Neo Fly.
https://maugiroe.wixsite.com/neofly
It is still a bit buggy, but it seems to offer a good range of bush flight type things.
I just grabbed the latest update and it wrote over my old profile, ARSE! Lucky I only had about a dozen flights.

Re: Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020!
I can recommend this. It makes it easy to make arbitrary way-points on your flight-plan, unlike the globe in the game. I'm now using it to plot my course for my circumnavigation of AU. I've made it to Port Lincoln, SA so far.smithcorp wrote:Third-party grand tour planner. https://sites.google.com/site/fredm/mis ... #h.p_ID_92

Picked up one of these on the weekend:
I can't say that using a yoke is at all intuitive, but I'm not hating learning something new.
Thinking seriously about the Bravo flight controls when they make it here next month:

A pilot mate of mine designed this to use with FS2020: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4572401Cursed wrote: Thinking seriously about the Bravo flight controls when they make it here next month:

Re: Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020!
Update has been stuck on "decompressing pc-.fs-base-bigfiles-0.1.86.fspatch" for 2 days. Stuck at 001 of 058. Several restarts haven't changed things. Can I delete that file and reload it (where are updates saved - farked if I can find them)? I have the steam version on my C drive (SSD).

I ran into similar problems before:smithcorp wrote:Update has been stuck on "decompressing pc-.fs-base-bigfiles-0.1.86.fspatch" for 2 days. Stuck at 001 of 058. stop the download, find the local repo, delete the file it was stuck on. If it all breaks, you get to keep all the parts.

Re: Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020!
Interesting richo.
Mine is GTX 1070 with 8GB GDDR5 coupled with 16GB DDR4 system memory and an i7-7700.
It plays most things fine via the single screen.

Re: Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020!
It's pretty cpu limited so you should be fine. I have a GTX 1080, 16GB and i7 6700 and it's smooth apart from the big cities, but even there it's still passable.
Get the packages on an SSD if you can (112GB for the base version) for loading times.

Re: Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020!
They've made changes to the rendering to help with performance, but it's not clear whether it'll help non-vr players as well.
