Just Bonkers!!!

I haven't been keeping up but what's the reason for recapturing the super heavy booster?

Is it simply for it being less expensive for re-use?
If so why are they not just landing it like they have with other rockets?

Apparently....
They save a heck of a lot of weight not needing any landing legs (metalwork, hydraulics, electronics etc etc) and the turnaround time is quicker because essentially apart from a check over and a refuel it's ready to go again without having to recheck the landing mechanism as well.

Thanks Kev, I can see it would be less expensive but only if it works everytime... Hopefully they can replicate it now.
