My 1994 MX-5

Post by DexterPunk »

Where can I hear this?

Ps. I didn't think it sounded overly 'Aussie'.

PPS. If I continue with the car mods I have planed, instead of spending on car stereo stuff, we should race em and have a battle of the hair dressers cars lmao.

Did you find the CAI info for the build online somewhere? It was the next thing I planed on doing.

I can't remember the episode (an old one) but there was an older lady doing the star in a reasonably priced car the other night on FOX and she described the MX-5 as not a hairdressers car but a hairdressers receptionist car - lmao :D

So I had an interesting weekend. Off for a nice drive on a brisk afternoon and the little thing rolled to a stop.

After a quick assessment that the timing belt had broken it was time to mouth a few fuck fuck fucks and off I went. My back is cursing me for lowering an already low car :D

What I saw with the valve cover off.

So it is all pulled down except for the seals so next weekend will be put it back to life. Joy.

See Stud, hair dressers usually have some hetro friend that knows a mechanic. Don't want to chip a nail. :)

Good luck with it.

Well Im back on the road.

Spent time today replacing the oil seals, fitting the water pump and belt then put it all back together. Mainly smooth sailing, a couple of moments but all good in the end.

I went for a quick run around the block (aka the installation lap) and found one of the bypass hoses is leaking at the clamp and an aux belt is squealing. So tomorrow I will loosen the belt and change a hose clamp and all should be good again.

Been a weird week without a car. Had a girl from work pick me up and bring me home. I even drove her in her own car a couple of times. Big difference between my lil baby and her ex Govt Caprice :D

Tasmania really is a bit backwards, chicks drive V8 Caprices and dudes drive pretty little converibles.

I'm definitely going to buy one as soon as I've finished my hairdressing course.

But does it have enough room for my hairdressing equipment? I am a mobile hairdresser to the stars. I would also like a factory fitted turbo please for a bit more excitement that NA.

Spent a few $$$ on new years eve. Sent a bloke a PM to buy some bits and the poor bugger has no life either and replied!! 2 more PM's later and I have secured a couple of Mazdaspeed bits.

A roll bar and a strut brace. The strut brace means I have to lose my cold air intake but I have no problem with that. On the weekend I refitted the standard intake in preparation of the bits turning up sometime in the next week.

Pics will come when I get them :D

Have you got bracing underneath too? I couldn't believe the difference it made to mine, front and rear. I don't think it had much impact on the handling but it certainly stopped all the creaks and rattles :)

I'm going to fit a rollbar this year too - one of many plans... :D

I have not fitted any other bracing myself but I think that as mine is an NA8, it already has underbody bracing that the NA6 doesn't.
