Re: New Car [No 56k]
Yea, I dont really mind them. Its not really in a massive rush of things to replace.
Ive got a few new bits going in next week. Mostly Boost Controller/New Fuel Pump/Fuel Pressure Reg.. Going to throw it on the dyno and get some idea of power figures, then ill be heading out to willowbank for a go, prob also going to head to Archerfield for some drifting (if I can afford the tires)
http://www.option1garage.com.au/ArcherfieldDrift.htm
Its becoming a money sink, but the end is getting closer.. ok not really ;s

what kind of Diff do they have? Might be worth looking into that for a performance upgrade rather than spending money on something that will make the car drink more ![Tongue :p](./images/smilies/tongue.gif)

Re: New Car [No 56k]
Comes with a LSD, its not the greatest for hardcore drifting, but it has no problems locking and throwing you sideways when you command it too :P
Drifting isnt what im really getting into it for you, its more for a weekend driver/streeter, but wanna give it a decent go when I get to the track

Re: New Car [No 56k]
in that case look at suspension, swaybars, final gear ratios, throttle response increases etc and some good brake pads are imperative for track stuff. When I drove in my mates 200 it had quite a harsh ride on it so im not sure much would need to be done to the suspension mainly camber etc and coilovers I think, which you already mentioned.

Re: New Car [No 56k]
Yep that's it, as mentioned its not extremely tight, but its decent enough.
Yea Sambo, in the process of that stuff.
Already have swaybars. Getting some better brake pads next week, was looking at getting some better roaters, but decided ill just wait for when I do coilovers.

Re: New Car [No 56k]
Best thing you can do for the track is brakes.
Get some decent pads, expect to pay up to $300 for a set of fronts.
Also, you will need to bleed the brakes before you head out there, nothing worse than coming to the braking marker at the end of the straight with no brakes.... i've been there... not fun!

Amen to that brother. Ask Robbo how he was feeling watching me at the end of the main straight at Wakefield with no brakes, in his car!SE1Z wrote:Best thing you can do for the track is brakes.

Re: New Car [No 56k]
Not really sure tbh, I thought it basically worked under the assumption of 10%, but a quick google has shown 10+ different answers.
Here's the dyno graph, for those with a keen eye, the top one is with the boost wound up to 14, the lower one is "stock" boost (basically 7psi.. with a fair bit of "spike") The lower of the marked lines is airfuel, due to running the standard computer system, the computer doesn't partially deal with the more boost going in, so it tends to lean as it starts to hit boost, then smash teh fuel in ending with greater then 10:1 air:fuel, which is really rich.. =S
![Image](http://img525.imageshack.us/img525/1414/dynosizedxq0.jpg)
So from here, I need to look at getting an aftermarket computer and injectors, which is at least $3k, so for now this will do

Re: New Car [No 56k]
Yep thats why they stopped winding the boost in @ 14psi.
Did 400km drive on saturday night all through the mountains behind the gold coast with a heap of silvia drivers, was fantastic fun.. few scarey moments which makes me want to start looking at getting the suspension firmed up (just the back feeling a little "floaty" at high speed underbrakes) but overall a fun ride.
With the way its running @ full boost its chewing through the fuel, I didnt spend much time under 4,000rpm, but got >300km from 50L ;s

243.7 at the rear wheels, so I think that works to about that in KW at the fly. Whatever BHP you have at the rear wheels is what KW you have at the flywheel, pretty sure its like that anyway. So you would have AROUND 240ish Kw. Not bad ![Smile :)](./images/smilies/smile.gif)

I never thought about it that way but it's probably pretty close since 25 to 30% has always been the drivetrain loss I've been told.SamC wrote:243.7 at the rear wheels, so I think that works to about that in KW at the fly. Re: New Car [No 56k]
All depends whether you leave the handbrake on or not.
Maybe that's the big dip in the dyno graph - yanking on the handbrake - "oh, you need to buy a magnetic polariser to smooth it out. Please come again" :P

Re: New Car [No 56k]
Lunchtime at work, so I figure I should update the thread.
Since boost controller, sunk a bit more into it over the last year and a bit.
Some Yashio Factory LED Tailights (pics dont do it justice)
![Image](http://nutteh.com/images/jdm/6.jpg)
Then took a bit of a break, got some custom plates
![Image](http://nutteh.com/images/s15/newplatesfront.jpg)
Then replaced the clutch with a Exceedy Cushion button clutch and put in some nice stereo equipment
Some JL VR600Splits
![Image](http://nutteh.com/images/jdm/7.jpg)
Kicker 12" CompVR Sub which takes up way too much of the boot
![Image](http://nutteh.com/images/jdm/8.jpg)
Powered by Alpine MRP-F6003
![Image](http://nutteh.com/images/jdm/9.jpg)
Got a proper tune, pushed it up to 194kw, but most of all added heaps in the midrange.. soo much better
![Image](http://i.imgur.com/pkb2q.jpg)
Then went and did my first run at the drag strip
Wasnt really sure what to expect, was hoping for a low 13.
ended up running a 13.5 @ 106mph.. 2.4 60f on that, did a 2.1 60f but hit limiter in 3rd and had a bad mph.
Basically struggled to get power down.. it either span 1st and tramped second, or tramped first and 2nd.
Good fun tho, rain ment I only got in 5 runs and got better each time.. cant complain with that.
![Image](http://nutteh.com/images/s15/drags.jpg)
Then yesterday, coilovers went in (sorry for the crap pics, camera is broken so only have blackberry)
![Image](http://nutteh.com/images/s15/apexi.jpg)
![Image](http://nutteh.com/images/s15/apexi2.jpg)
They are installed and fitted, LOVE them.. by far the best investment ive made into my car.
The thing handles a thousand times better,
Didnt go too low, need guards rolled and ill go down abit more
![Image](http://nutteh.com/images/s15/coilovers.jpg)
![Image](http://nutteh.com/images/s15/coilovers2.jpg)
Time to take a break from it for awhile, think its time to really get cracking on paying off the loan before dropping any more cash on it.. really happy wiht it atm
